Love Never Lies: South Africa episode 7, the season finale, was released on December 6 on Netflix. The episode saw the original couples answering a yes or no question about an ongoing problem in their relationship. The lie detector determined the couples' responses as truthful, adding money to the final prize pot that would go to the winning couple.
Clayton and Wilfred also answered truthfully, and in each other's favor. They increased the prize pot by 30K Rand each. After the question-answer round, they left as a stronger couple from the main stage because they reassured each other of their feelings.
Towards the end, the show host Minnie gathered all the couples and announced how many times each one of them was caught lying on the lie detector throughout their run on the season. Clayton and Wilfred were among the two couples who lied the least, alongside Gontse and Munaka. The latter won the title and took home the prize pot of 720K Rand.
What were Clayton and Wilfred's questions on Love Never Lies: South Africa episode 7?
When the cast members of Love Never Lies: South Africa sat together to watch a clip of their partners with their other potential connection, Wilfred said he was grateful for the journey because it felt like the end. He added that he had never seen that side of Clayton. He continued:
"He said I'm stupid because I was speaking about s*x, but you make silly s*x jokes and you were craving to kiss Simo because of exactly the same thing."
In a Love Never Lies: South Africa confessional, Clayton noted that he needed Wilfred to reassure him about his feelings for him. Wilfred shared that their relationship started off with lies and hoped that he had grown in that aspect.
Going into the questionnaire round, Wilfred stated he wanted to know the truth about Clayton's feelings because there was cheating involved during their run on the show. He also said that it would be better to set boundaries with him. Clayton, on the other hand, clarified that if he and Wilfred weren't able to fix the differences that occurred on the show, they might have to end their relationship.
The scene then cut to a montage of chemistry Clayton shared with Simo on Love Never Lies: South Africa. It also showed the flashback of the episode where Minnie asked Wilfred if Clayton's behavior had made him reconsider his views on their future together, where Wilfred had said "yes". Clayton noted he came to realize his love for Wilfred and that he was willing to do everything that made him happy.
When the two greeted each other on Love Never Lies: South Africa finale, they told Minnie that they were happy to see themselves together. Wilfred was asked if he was willing to accept Clayton's flirtatious nature, and he replied, "yes." The lie detector approved his answer to be the truth, so it added 30K Rand to the prize pot.
Clayton explained he didn't need it to be a yes because he wouldn't do anything that would hurt Wilfred. He reassured the latter, saying that he didn't need to flirt with people anymore because he was sure of going forward with Wilfred from then on. Wilfred echoed his sentiments, adding that he was willing to make compromises to meet Clayton halfway.
Clayton was asked a more serious question—if he was ready to settle down with Wilfred and he replied with a "yes" as well. His answer was true, so he too added 30K Rand to the prize pot. Clayton said he wanted to settle down with Wilfred and told him he was down to move in with him as well. He jokingly also asked him if he would marry him.
The Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion will be released on December 8 on Netflix.
