Fans of reality TV have been clamoring for the second season of Outlast ever since the first season ended. On September 4, 2024, six episodes of Outlast season 2 were released, in which 16 competitors are seen vying for a million dollars as they go up against each other in the Alaskan wilderness.

The major twist that the competitors were made aware of early on was that they must be part of a team to win. The Alaskan wilderness brings with it some dire circumstances where competitors must form strategic alliances to fight off nature's dangerous elements and the ensuing competition.

Just like in season 1 of Outlast, there will be four teams in the game: the Alpha Camp, Bravo Camp, Charlie Camp, and Delta Camp. All camps start the game with four players, but players can change their teams in the middle.

In the very first episode, the competitors were escorted on a boat and instructed to not speak to one another. After reaching Kupreanof Island, a helicopter dropped a package containing the rules of the game and four hatchets with different color bands. Drew, Julio, Eric, and Zach picked up the hatchets and were then instructed to pick their teams.

Zach picked Bayo, Tre, and Tonia to make up the Alpha camp. Drew picked Drake, Sammy, and Emily to make up the Bravo camp. Julio picked Brianna, Meghan, and Joey to make up the Charlie camp. Eric picked Brendon, Tina, and Joseph to make up the Delta camp.

As mentioned above, the game started with 16 players, which included Bayardo (Bayo) Hernandez, Brendon Ash, Bri Walston, Deontre (Tre) Thomas, Drake Vliem, Drew Haas, Emily Johnston, Eric Shevchenko, Joey DiDesidero, Joseph Malbrough, Julio Laboy, Meghan Buchanan, Sammy Norris, Tina Grimm, Tonia Willman, and Zach Owens.

After the four teams were successfully formed, each team was then given a small supply with which they had to survive. Each team received a bow and eight arrows, a knife, a flint, two tarps, a flashlight, binoculars, a paracord, and a small pot. The Alpha and Bravo teams would share the same shoreline and Team Charlie and Delta would be located across, separated by the Alaskan bay.

All the teams in Outlast chose an ideal spot that would help them forage for food and water whilst also keeping them safe from wildlife hunters like bears and wolves.

Drew and Drake immediately felt a connection between them as they were both from the state of Texas. But from the same camp, Emily felt her voice wasn't heard by the rest of the boys in the group.

On the same coastline was the Alpha team, in which Bayo questioned Zach's decision-making skills as a leader. He emphasized that although Zach picked up the hatchet at the start, it doesn't automatically make him a leader. The Delta team was also going through the same situation as Eric showcased his desire to lead, but was met with slight opposition from his teammates due to his lacking skillset.

The Charlie team started well, with all four teammates agreeing to make decisions that would be in line with everyone's viewpoint. As Brianna started to take charge, the other three didn't take the micro-management very well, leading to the team butting heads over small decisions.

By the end of the episode, Bayo grew sick of Zach's decision-making and decided to take matters into his own hands. He visited the Bravo camp along with Zach and decided to steal their cans in front of them which didn't go well with either Bravo or the rest of the Alpha team. Bayo was eliminated by his own teammates in episode 2 because of his act.

The last two episodes of Outlast season 2 will be available to stream on September 11 on Netflix.
