One of the contestants on The Mole Season 2, Sean Patrick Bryan, happens to be a retired undercover cop. His skills in this line of business will provide him with the advantage of spotting someone who is lying, a very important part of the show wherein contestants must figure out who among them is the sabotaging Mole.
Sean is now a retired undercover cop, a part-time actor, and a stay-at-home dad with a passion for '80s and '90s boy bands. He says it is contrary to his background. Sean, claims he came in for the competition and cash for the sake of his family and not to sabotage or destroy other people's chances of winning money.
Sean explained to Tudum why he is not a 'Mole' saying,
“I’m here to compete for my family and win cash. I don’t have what it takes to sabotage or ruin people’s chances of winning money.”
Is The Mole season 2 star Sean a suspect?
Sean is where it starts to get fuzzy, though he's not exactly too suspicious, there are a couple of things worth scrutinizing. His not telling anyone about working as a former undercover cop is a profession that supplied him with a fair number of the very qualities one might look for in contestants for The Mole.
Sean's taken some money out of the pot, but not too much. He could have easily backed out of rappelling from the "Money Tower" mission and was faster than Melissa.
By switching a picture of someone who turned out to be a target, he completely sabotaged one-third of the server task in Episode 4, while he did it partly to draw attention to himself and confuse other people.
Afterward, Sean seemed mad that he had cost everyone some money. Admittedly, he was one of the top three suspects who obtained the most votes for the Episode 5 mission titled Special Delivery.
Sean didn't receive the most votes—he probably received just one from Michael—and those votes merely serve to identify the group member who is the most suspicious. They're not always correct, though, and he's already been criticised for having a poker face.
Who is the 'Mole' in Season 2
The identity of the 'Mole' has not been known yet. As the show went on to Episode 5, the general consensus of all the remaining contestants seemed to point toward Michael, Muna, and Sean as the main suspects.
Michael also seems to be rather invisible to most, yet several happenings prove otherwise. Though he avoided much notice at the start, his duplicity during the fortune cookie game exempted him from the next elimination quiz making everyone realize that he is not someone to be trifled with.
He once told Tudum he cannot be the mole as he is too talkative which is not convincing hereby putting Michael on the radar.
Finally, there is Muna. The 24-year-old software engineer seems to get off on the right foot with most people. On day one, she was voted by her fellow contestants as one of the two most trustworthy players in the group.
She and the other two most reliable and heavy players were given the chance to help the group or themselves through a reward challenge: they would receive one right answer on the elimination quiz. They would each be contributing $5,000 to the pot if they decided to go with the group.
In a shocking twist, Muna didn't help the group but took the test correction instead. That officially chopped another $5,000 off the collective prize pot. She said that she doesn't play nice; she plays to win.
In episode 3, Muna even went to the extent where she tried to undermine the money-making efforts of the group in the fortune cookie game by lying to secure her exemption.
Explaining why she is not the 'Mole', Muna told Tudum,
"I'm a detective at heart."
The Mole season 2 episodes 1-5 are currently streaming on Netflix.
