The highly anticipated Love is Blind: Habibi reunion will air on Friday, November 1. This Arabic adaptation of the hit reality dating series premiered on October 10, 2024. The show followed 20 singles across the Arab world as they sought a love connection without ever seeing each other first.

Like the original Love is Blind, the singles meet in individual 'pods' and build connections based on conversations rather than appearances. The show was filmed across Lebanon, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, with the pods located in Lebanon.

Love is Blind: Habibi quickly climbed Netflix’s non-English shows chart, garnering over 1.6 million views within a week of its release and ranking as one of Netflix's global successes.

The reunion episode will be the first time the contestants gather as a group since the wedding finales, allowing fans to witness unresolved tensions and receive updates on where each couple stands.

Cast members like Safa Al Juboori, Mohamed “Mido” Gahed, Mohammed AlKiswani, Asma Sami, Chafic Yactine, and Nour El Haj will return to discuss their experiences and the dynamics that evolved within the pods.

What happened in the first season of Love is Blind: Habibi

In Love is Blind: Habibi’s debut season, 20 participants from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, and Iraq set out on a unique journey to find love.

After engaging in deep conversations with each other without seeing their faces, six contestants found their partners, progressing from the pods to a luxury resort for further bonding.

Here, they met face-to-face and had the chance to decide whether they would move forward toward engagement or part ways. Ultimately, only three couples made it to the wedding day, and just one couple married.

Throughout their time in the resort and beyond, some couples faced personal and cultural challenges that tested their compatibility.

Karma and Ammar

Karma, a Tunisian business owner, and Ammar, a Syrian dentist, connected early on in the pods over their mutual love of music and humor. However, their bond was strained after meeting in person, as Ammar’s traditional beliefs clashed with Karma’s independent outlook.

“I would never allow my wife to dance,” he said, a stance that was ultimately a deal-breaker for Karma, who prioritized her passion over the relationship.

Hajar and Simo

Moroccan business owners Hajar and Simo seemed to have strong chemistry initially, but they often clashed over differences in outlook.

In one heated incident at the resort, Simo nearly came to blows with Chafic, another participant. When Hajar didn’t defend Simo during this confrontation, he left the show abruptly, expressing frustration.

Asma and Khatab

Egyptian entrepreneur Asma and Iraqi-Canadian architect Khatab shared common values and quickly bonded in the pods of Love is Blind: Habibi. Although Asma eventually decided not to pursue a wedding, the couple’s bond brought them back to the resort.

However, when Asma’s family hesitated to give their blessing, she left Khatab at the altar, stating, “Today is not the decisive day.”

Dounia and Chafic

Lebanese entrepreneur Chafic and Saudi-Moroccan content creator Dounia were one of the fan favorites couple. Chafic even professed his love publicly from the men’s lounge.

Things changed when Chafic had an awkward encounter with Noor, a former acquaintance, which led to tension and ultimately to their split.

Noor and Mido

Egyptian real estate consultant Mido and Lebanese model Noor were each other’s second choice after their initial connections paired up with others.

Their relationship didn’t get far, they realized they were too different, leading Mido to question Noor’s motives. In the reunion teaser, he criticizes her for focusing too much on her looks, prompting Noor to stand her ground, stating, “Noor is the best mix you can find.”

Their tension-filled relationship will likely surface again in the reunion, with Chafic joining the conversation to add his perspective.

Safa and Mohammed: What happened after their marriage?

The only couple to make it down the aisle in Love is Blind: Habibi was Iraqi finance manager Safa and Jordanian marketing manager Mohammed.

Despite initial challenges, they earned their families’ blessings and committed to marriage. However, since the show’s premiere, some fans have observed that Safa and Mohammed don’t follow each other on social media, sparking speculation about the status of their relationship.

In the reunion trailer of Love is Blind: Habibi, Mohammed’s confession, “Yes, I’m a jealous person,” is met with Safa’s caution that “there’s a fine line between jealousy and control,” hinting that the couple may be dealing with deeper issues.
