Queer Eye is making its much-anticipated return with season 9, set to premiere on Netflix on December 11, 2024. Fans can expect 10 episodes of life-changing makeovers as the Fab Five head to Las Vegas for this new chapter.

Alongside series veterans Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, and Jonathan Van Ness, the team welcomes Jeremiah Brent as the new interior design expert, replacing Bobby Berk after his departure.

With Brent's entry, viewers are promised emotional transformations, all with the backdrop of Sin City.

Queer Eye: Everything we know so far

Season 9 of Queer Eye marks a fresh start, with Las Vegas as the setting for this latest chapter of the hit series. In February, Jeremiah Brent was confirmed as Bobby Berk’s replacement after the latter decided to leave following eight seasons.

Berk’s departure came after a reported reluctance to renew his contract, though Brent has assured fans that there was “no drama” behind the scenes. He expressed excitement for the new season to House Beautiful on March 27, 2024, stating:

“We’re having the time of our lives. Everybody’s heads and hearts are in the right spot.”

Brent, known for his work on HGTV and his marriage to designer Nate Berkus, fits right in with the Fab Five, saying:

"I love the stress. I love the pressure. And this is not my first rodeo."

Despite fan concerns about Berk’s workload as the former interior expert, Brent confidently assured viewers, “I know what I signed up for.”

What happens in the show?

In each season, Queer Eye takes on a group of “heroes” nominated by their loved ones for a life-changing transformation.

This time, the Fab Five will focus on individuals in Las Vegas, including a former showgirl hoping to regain her confidence and a dedicated librarian seeking personal growth. These transformations have always been the core of the show.

Brent's addition to the team brings a new perspective to the show, and the newly revealed key art captures the Fab Five’s spirit. The image shows the team posing around a slot machine, symbolizing their Las Vegas adventure.

Brent takes center stage in the promotional material, highlighting his significant role in the upcoming season.

Bobby Berk’s departure and Jeremiah Brent’s arrival

Bobby Berk’s departure from Queer Eye in late 2023 marked the end of an era. He posted an emotional farewell on social media, explaining that leaving the show after eight seasons was a "necessary" but difficult decision. Berk stated in a social media post:

“It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one.”

Rumors swirled that Tan France and Antoni Porowski played a role in Berk’s exit, but France quickly debunked those claims on Instagram, saying:

“My former colleague getting fired had nothing to do with me trying to get my friend hired.”

Despite these rumors, Brent’s arrival was well-received, especially as he emphasized the positive environment on set, his experience in design, and his familiarity with the pressures of TV.

As executive producers David Collins, Michael Williams, Rob Eric, and others continue to steer the show, season 9 is set to offer the same mix of emotional depth, personal growth, and makeovers.

Viewers can air the show on December 11, when Queer Eye returns with its Vegas-themed season.
