Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 aired episode 12, Fraught Mess, on Monday, December 30, 2024. The episode showcased a new group of guests stepping onto Parsifal III for a one-night charter. Captain Glenn and his crew welcomed them warmly, hoping to make their stay on the yacht memorable. However, things quickly changed directions once the guests began to complain about the service.
The guests disapproved of the yacht's provisions, food and drinks, and the time the crew took to serve them. Soon after settling on the boat, they ordered drinks, which Chief Stew Daisy and the other junior stewardesses brought to them. However, when they faced a slight delay, one of the guests asked:
"Where's the steward person?"
The guests on the Below Deck Sailing Yacht yacht talked among themselves, wondering if they could press a "button" to call the servers. They often criticized the service time and asked if the crew had forgotten about them and their drinks. After Daisy handed them their beverages, the ladies expressed dissatisfaction with their "weak" alcohol content.
"Would be nice if it was an actual pool" — Below Deck Sailing Yacht guest Jillian complains about the hot tub
After Captain Glenn welcomed the guests aboard, Daisy showed them around to familiarize them with the amenities of the yacht. As soon as she showed them the fly bridge and the hot tub, one of the charter guests, Jillian said:
"It would be nice if it was an actual pool."
The ladies were equally unimpressed by the size of the bedrooms. One from the friend group, Tonya, stated that the size of the bedroom reminded her of her college dorm room.
Soon, the ladies settled on deck with drinks in hand to enjoy the view. When one of the guests left her drink in her room, another advised her to call the "right people" to get her the drink instead of seeking one another's help.
"Come on, now. I'm here on vacation like you. If you want something, ask the right people," a guest named Sharie said.
Once the boat set sail, it tilted to one side due to the current and strong winds. Sharie felt seasick and asked the Below Deck Sailing Yacht captain to stop sailing so she could recover. Although Captain Glenn honored her request, he expressed his disappointment in a confessional, revealing that it was the first time someone had asked him to stop sailing.
Later in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht episode, the guests participated in a mixology class. However, despite Daisy's efforts, they complained about the taste of the drinks they made.
"Naturally, I'm a people pleaser and I cannot read what's going on with these guests," Daisy said in a confessional.
The guests ended their mixology class midway, unhappy with what they had made. They declared they would never partake in a similar experience again. It added to Daisy's worries who claimed it was "pulsating" how uncomfortable everyone was. She hoped their requested seven-course dinner would meet their expectations.
However, their dinner experience was equally disappointing. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht episode 12's charter guests complained about the taste of the Aperol Spritz, while Sharie said it tasted like "cough syrup." The situation worsened when Daisy accidentally spilled some drinks on the dining table.
"Daisy, how did you do that?" one of the ladies asked.
Daisy chuckled nervously while Sharie asked Chef Cloyce to prepare shrimp instead of oysters, despite having oysters on her preference list. They further criticized the number of courses being served and looked down on Daisy for not remembering they wanted half glasses of cocktails.
The following morning the guests expressed concern about the taste of the quiche they ate.
"This is not that good," a guest said.
Toward the end of the episode, the guests informed Captain Glenn that they expected better service for the price they paid. Meanwhile, the crew wondered if they were not going to tip them.
