The second season of Outlast has seen many twists and turns within the four camps. Netflix released the first six episodes on September 4, 2024, in which 16 competitors started the competition and went up against each other in the rough conditions of the Alaskan wilderness.
Just like season 1, this season of Outlast also features four teams in the game. The Alpha and Bravo Camp are on one side of the island while the Charlie and Delta Camp are on the other side of the riverbed.
Each camp starts the game with four players, but the players can change their teams in the middle of the game. They can also quit any time within the game by shooting a flare into the sky.
One of the major requirements in the show is that the players need to be a part of the team otherwise they will be forced to forfeit. The players are forced to make strategic alliances in order to stay in the game, where they have to fight against the unbiased cruelty of nature as well.
In the first two episodes, the Chalie Camp had some disagreements as Brianna tried to take charge of the camp. Meghan, Joey, and Julio wanted to keep everyone's view in contention rather than following a leader's instructions.
This led to Brianna leaving the camp and traveling on foot to the other side where the Alpha and Bravo camps were located.
Brianna was accepted by Bravo Camp in Outlast season 2 episode 3
As the episode starts, the fans of the reality show are made aware that the competitors are on day 8 of the game. Brianna had 24 hours to find a new team, out of which she took four hours to travel to the Bravo Camp. With 20 hours left, Brianna was desperate to join a team that could go on and win this season of Outlast.
Emily from the Bravo Camp expressed her desire to keep Brianna on their side as she wanted more feminine energy in the team. Emily explained that she grew up with three sisters in the family and although she was enjoying Drew, Drake, and Sammy's presence, she felt the team could do more with another female.
The three men were pretty firm on not adding another contestant to their roster as that would result in the prize money getting split between five people.
Emily made the point that Brianna showed determination by traveling this far and reaching their camp alone and her military background would mean more people could work in the camp.
The men didn't budge from their opinion, which led Emily to confess in front of cameras that she felt neglected by her teammates whenever she shared her opinions with them.
She further suggested that they let Brianna stay due to the tide coming up and the sun going down as it would be hard for her to travel again to the Alpha camp.
Drew called over Brianna and acknowledged her desire to travel this much for the competition. He further revealed that he wanted to pick Brianna on day 1 and respected her a lot.
But to Brianna's disappointment, Drew stated the desire of the team that they weren't looking to add another person. Emily retorted immediately and told Brianna that she fought for her tooth and nail.
Despite the differences, they all agreed that Brianna should stay the night with them as it would be difficult to travel currently. All five of them reveled in the idea of a "sleepover", especially Brianna, because she would be able to eat some food and drink some clean water.
Things took a turn in Outlast as the pair saw a flare go up from the Alpha camp. It was revealed that Zach injured his back and was unable to move. This would mean that the Alpha Camp was down to two players and chances of them accepting Brianna would be high.
Brianna expressed to the cameras that although she would be accepted easily now, the Alpha Camp is much weaker in general.
As night fell, the Bravo Camp shared their spoils, including mud crabs, with Brianna. Drew declared that he was thoroughly enjoying Brianna's company. The quintuple shared personal stories as they enjoyed their feast by the fire. After dinner, Brianna asked the camp members to "cuddle" with her in a lighthearted manner.
She stated in her confessional that staying in the Bravo Camp would increase her chances of survival dramatically.
"I still knew in the back of my mind they didn't want a fifth person. But now that I have my foot in the door, I need to make them change their mind," stated Brianna.
The next morning, Drew took Emily to the corner to discuss Brianna's stay, which delighted Emily. Drew expressed that after staying the night with her, he was able to know her better and enjoyed her positive presence in the camp.
Emily and Drew argued that she would fit in perfectly with the team and wanted Alpha Camp to perish soon.
Sammy and Drake quickly came on board and the team decided to add a fifth person. All five of them hugged it out to the delight of Brianna, who felt relieved.
By the end of the episode, former teammates of Brianna in the Charlie Camp saw Meghan and Julio call upon the medics. They both expressed that due to lack of calories, they haven't been able to keep warm. They both shot a flare in the air, declaring their elimination from Outlast.
