Dancing With the Stars has returned for its season 33, captivating audiences with performances, intense competition, and dramatic eliminations. Known for pairing celebrities with professional dancers, the show challenges its participants to master various dance styles over several weeks.
This season kicked off with a special Oscars Night theme, featuring tributes to iconic films such as Dirty Dancing, The Godfather, and La La Land. While no eliminations occurred during the premiere week, co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough announced that two couples would be eliminated in Week 2 of Dancing With the Stars.
Following a series of performances, the combined judges' scores and public votes eliminated Tori Spelling with Pasha Pashkov, and Anna Delvey with Ezra Sosa from Dancing With the Stars.
Double Elimination in Dancing With the Stars season 33
Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov
Tori Spelling, best known for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210, and her partner Pasha Pashkov delivered a rumba to This Is Me from The Greatest Showman. Their performance earned them a score of 19 out of 30, bringing their total for both nights to 36.
Despite the judges’ praise for Spelling’s emotional delivery, it was not enough to keep the couple in Dancing With the Stars. Remarking on her experience, Spelling expressed her intention to inspire her children by showing them that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa
Anna Delvey, the subject of Inventing Anna, partnered with professional dancer Ezra Sosa for a quickstep to Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall from The Devil Wears Prada. They received a score of 17 out of 30, culminating in a two-night total of 35.
Delvey, who joined the show with the aim of changing public perception, simply stated “Nothing” when asked what she would take away from the competition. Despite showing potential, Delvey and Sosa were unable to garner enough support to advance to the next round of Dancing With the Stars.
