The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras has released five episodes so far, following its premiere on 14 August ET/PT on MTV and Paramount+. The season features both old and fresh contestants, with 40 competitors competing in a group of four called 'Eras.' The winner of The Challenge 40 will take home the prize money of $1 million.
Throughout the episodes, fans have witnessed familiar competition with a good dose of twists and turns to keep things interesting. With 14 contestants already eliminated from the competition, only 26 remain. The show, hosted by TJ Lavin, guides the contestants through various challenges.
From Tony's shocking elimination in episode 3 to veteran CT parting ways with the show in episode 5, the competition has been full of twists and turns.
14 players have been eliminated from The Challenge 40
1) Amanda Garcia (episode 2)
Amanda was eliminated in episode 2 of The Challenge 40 when she took on Nia from Era 3. Era 3 picked "Balls In" as their challenge. Nia's size advantage played a significant role, ultimately proving too much for Amanda, who was the first person to be eliminated after losing 2-1.
2) Leroy Garrett (episode 2)
In the same episode, Leroy from Era 3 was also eliminated in the "Balls In" challenge against Tony. Before the brawl, Tony explained that he was happy to go one-on-one against his friend and showcase a good game for the audience. Tony won both rounds and sent Leroy packing.
3) Mark Long (episode 2)
Mark went up against Derrick in "Poll Wrestle,” and to the surprise of many, Derrick won despite being much smaller than Mark in The Challenge 40.
4) Katie Cooley (episode 2)
Aneesa took on Katie to decide who would be going home. Katie's strategy was to hold onto Aneesa and try to wear her down, as she had the size advantage. However, this didn't change much for Aneesa, as she easily took Katie out.
5) Paulie Calafiore (episode 2)
Paulie faced Theo in "Hall Brawl," with personal animosity against each other before the brawl. Theo took advantage of his size and won the first and second rounds with much ease.
6) Nurys Mateo (episode 2)
Nurys went up against Olivia in "Hall Brawl" for the girls, and despite Nurys putting up a tenacious fight, Olivia dominated both rounds and eliminated Nurys in the process from The Challenge 40.
7) KellyAnne Judd (episode 2)
Episode 2 saw eight contestants depart, and the final game was "Take Shelter" between Era 2 of The Challenge. KellyAnn drew Cara Maria but couldn't get past her in the game and was eliminated.
8) Brandon Nelson (episode 2)
The men played "Take Shelter" side-by-side with the ladies, in which Brandon went up against Ryan. Ryan eventually ousted Brandon in this game, which focuses on mental prowess rather than physical.
9) Tony Raines (episode 3)
Tony's elimination was met with some backlash from his teammates as he nominated himself to go up in the elimination round. He competed in “One Step at a Time” against Darrell and ultimately lost.
10) Jodi Weatherton (episode 3)
Jodi went against Averey, and the former claimed that her anxiety level was at “11.” This proved to be fatal as she was sent home in tears by Averey.
11) Horacio Gutierrez Jr. (episode 4)
Horacio and Jenny went up against Derrick & Aneesa in "Pick It Up," where players would have to reach for a basket and grab a ball and later shoot the ball in a track. Horacio was defeated by Derrick in the competition.
12) Aneesa Ferreira (episode 4)
Aneesa faced off against Jenny in "Pick It Up," and the latter won by a score of 40-37, eliminating Aneesa.
13) CT Tamburello (episode 5)
Kyland & Olivia revealed the duos going against each other, with CT and Tina facing off against Nehemiah & Emily, respectively. CT couldn't get past Kyland in “Getting Hammered,” in which players must remove 100 nails from one board and nail 100 more into another board.
14) Emily Schromm (episode 5)
Emily was eliminated in the fifth episode after she went against Tina. Tina took an early lead and was able to eliminate Emily from The Challenge 40.
