More about The Voice season 26 contestant Torre Blake

Torre Blake has a sports background in volleyball and comes from an athletic family; her father, Jeff Blake, and uncle, Robert Jones, were pro football players. While she was playing volleyball she kept following her passion for music side by side.

Torre began her music journey in high school when she enrolled in songwriting classes. Throughout her early years, she also used to sing in church choirs. However, most of her peers knew her for playing volleyball. Her volleyball skills helped her secure a sports scholarship to East Carolina University.

Torre used to write music while also excelling in her volleyball game. However, after completing college she went all in on her music career and started to meet producers. She recorded various tracks in studios and improved her songwriting skills. Later in 2022, she moved to Los Angeles to further excel in her music career.

Torre released her first track in early 2020, titled Ain’t Thinkin’. According to her official website bio, the song showcases 'the raw power of Torre’s voice, inviting listeners on a profound journey of self-discovery.' It was inspired by contemporary artists like Rayven Lenae, Amber Mark, Charlotte Day Wilson, and Solange.

The Voice season 26 contestant released her most popular song a year later in 2021. Titled So Glad, the R&B-infused song explores the beauty of life struggles. The song received 77k streams on Spotify, cementing the start of her music success. Torre has also produced music videos for her songs Sweet Kisses and Pipedream. Her latest song Brave was released in January 2023.

Torre Blake's performance on The Voice season 26 premiere

Torre Blake performed her rendition of On & On and was able to turn coach Snoop Dogg and Gwen's chairs in the premiere episode. Snoop was first to press the button and turn his chair because he felt that Torre was "smooth". He further shared that he was a fan of her father, Jeff Blake.

Gwen commented about the singer's "airy" voice and told her that she could coach her to improve and help her find more of her true self through her performance.

Coach Michael Bublé had intentions to press the buttons. However, he didn't after Snoop had already taken the initiative. Jeff Blake hopped onto the stage and helped his daughter pick Snoop as her The Voice season 26 coach.
