Filipe chose Afrodite in his team on Rhythm + Flow: Brazil episode 1

On Rhythm + Flow: Brazil episode 1, Filipe told the cameras that he had high expectations from the contestants who were auditioning to be a part of his team.

He shared that he wanted the participants to see "how important the opportunity is."

Then, he introduced viewers to the Brazilian rap "legend" Marcelo D2 who was a "huge inspiration" to him. The Rhythm + Flow: Brazil star Filipe met him and talked about his childhood neighborhood and the family who resided in the town where he lived.

Both Filipe and Marcelo D2 were ready to evaluate the two contestants. Afrodite introduced herself during her confessional interview, sharing that she built her self-confidence and was sure about being the best at what she does.

Afordite admitted that people mistake her confidence for arrogance at times, but this judgment doesn't stop her from achieving her dreams.

Later in the episode, the participant Cold Jas told her back story about being born in Angola and then moving to Brazil. She shared that rap was a form of self-expression for her.

After both the contestants' performances ended, Rhythm + Flow: Brazil star Filipe told Marcelo what he observed. He said:

"Cold Jas is kind of serious and aesthetic. Afrodite, her attitude is a little bit more of a Rio type of sound right? Each punchline made an impact. For me, Afrodite gave it more."

The two decided to reveal who had made it through the audition, Filipe congratulated Afrodite, and continued:

"Cold Jas, I'd say your rhymes were on point with the boom bap, there was good stuff there. Afordite, you were able to switch up your flow. And you brought a little attitude. Congratulations Afrodie, Cold Jas thankyou so much for participating."

He also told the producers about his final judgment:

"In my opinion, I didn't like her style but even still she had attitude."
