How did Rock get eliminated in Deal or No Deal Island season 2 episode 3?
The Sandcastle Challenge
In Deal or No Deal Island season 2 episode 3, host Joe Manganiello introduced the players to The Sandcastle Challenge. In the week 3 challenge, the contestants first had to free themselves from a rope after acquiring a key. Then they had to make a run through the jungle to get their hands on one of the 12 cases buried under the sandcastles.
From the first group, David Genat freed himself first followed by Parvati Shallow. In the other group, Phillip Solomon went first while Dr. Will Kirby believed that he should “Let the peasants run" first and he would take his time.
Alexis Lete uncovered the highest case worth $4 million, while Phillip secured the Banker’s surprise case. The Deal or No Deal Island season 2 players then teamed up and combined their amounts. Alexis added Rock to her team, but Phillip's surprise case had the power to split teams. He chose to split Alexis and Rock, leaving Rock with only $820,000.
Rock faces the banker and his elimination
Parvati apologized to Rock after feeling pressured by Courtney Kim to split their team. Despite this, Rock remained upbeat and cheerful, volunteering to face the Banker with a positive attitude.
“Ben … Kamari, we got a wild one tonight,” Joe stated.
When Rock entered the temple, he selected case number eight, noting that it held sentimental value as the date of his wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, his luck didn't shine in round one, as he failed to secure any cases worth the $12 million total.
The Banker insulted Rock’s skills and offered him $133,000, which he refused despite advice from other players. When the Banker called again, he offered $250,000, which Rock accepted. However, it was revealed that the offer was less than the amount in Rock's case.
Ultimately, Rock was eliminated and managed to increase the prize pot to $531,001.
“Despite this, I’m never giving up on myself and my dreams. Never, ever, ever. There’s always another way to make a bunch of goddang money. Maybe I can throw my resume into Naked and Afraid or some sh*t, you know?” he said in his confessional after his elimination.
