Joseph Rodriguez, a 30-year-old from Tampa, has been going strong in Big Brother season 26 so far. He is a video store clerk and has a new Instagram account (@brosephrodriguez), which is currently run by his friend for the summer, as mentioned in his bio. The account mostly posts stills and clips from Joseph's run on the show.
The first post from Joseph's account was made on July 15, 2024, featuring his Big Brother cast photo. In the caption, he wrote about finally being on the reality show after dreaming about it for a long time. He shared that this experience is already magical for him and that he is grateful to the universe for the opportunity.
Joseph finally got to appear on the CBS reality TV show with season 26 and quickly grew in popularity among the viewers. In his Big Brother cast description, the 30-year-old mentioned that he plans to win the season because he has everything in the right balance and doesn't have too much of anything.
In his intro video, Joseph was seen jogging on the beach before receiving a key to a box containing a message, stating he would be a contestant on the upcoming season of Big Brother. He got excited and said that his poker skills would come in handy on the show. While explaining his approach, Joseph said:
“In poker, you have to be patient, and when you have the move, you got to go for it.”
Big Brother season 26: Houseguest Joseph Rodriguez's Job
Joseph Rodriguez is an aspiring filmmaker with a passion for movies. He works at a video store, and in the season 26 premiere episode, he shared that whenever he tells people that he works at a video store, they are often shocked, and the first question that comes to their mind is: Who buys VHS tapes these days?
His workplace, Viper Video, is located in the Riverside Heights neighborhood in Tampa. The store is one of the last remaining VHS stores in the Tampa region and sells DVDs, BluRay, and VHS tapes. One can find both new and old horror, sci-fi, and cult favorites at Joseph's video store.
According to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay, Viper Video's owner, Shelby McIntyre, told them, after Joseph's Big Brother induction news, that he and his store regulars are rooting for him to win. While he worries that Joseph might not come back to work for him if he wins the show, he says that he will have a job at the store, either way.
Joseph Rodriguez on Big Brother season 26
When Joseph Rodriguez entered the Big Brother house, he became a part of the strong alliance "The Collectives." With the help of his alliance, Joseph was able to stay out of eviction and is still running strong in week six. During his six-week tenure, he has been a part of every single one of the Veto competitions.
The show introduced the AI Instigator concept in season 26. AI Instigator can use digital avatars to spread rumors, secrets, and misinformation among the houseguests.
The contestant who is chosen for the role can anonymously use its power to disrupt other players' game plans. Based on how well they perform, they will get a prize amount.
Houseguests including Chelsie, Kimo, and Leah have speculated that Joseph might be the man behind the AI Instigator. In an episode, AI Instigator revealed the showmance between Tucker and Rubina by displaying a clip of them holding hands. The instigator also created drama by telling the houseguests that they should have evicted Rubina instead of Cedric.
Big Brother season 26 episodes are aired every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday on CBS.
