Meet the judges for season 33 of Dancing with the Stars

Carrie Ann Inaba

Carrie Ann has been part of Dancing with the Stars, since the very first season which aired on June 1, 2005. She is a singer, dancer, and television personality.

She was born in Hawaii on January 5, 1968. Carrie was drawn to singing during her initial years in Japan. But she chose dancing as her calling after participating in Fly Girls, in which she was the first Asian-American to perform a contemporary dance style.

Carrie became a popular name as a choreographer after she was featured in DWTS as one of the judges. However, she has been the only female judge on the panel and has expressed her deep concerns regarding it. On November 20, 2023, Carrie attended Variety's Women of Reality TV celebration event and shared that she had to fight harder for her opinion.

She also said during the event:

"As the only female judge for most of the seasons, I get a lot more hate than the men do and people doubt what I say."

Bruno Tonioli

Bruno is a British-Italian choreographer, dancer, and television personality. He was born in Ferrara, Italy on 25 November 1955. Bruno has choreographed for some famous names in his illustrious career like Elton John, the Rolling Stones, Freddie Mercury, Sinitta, Boy George, Dead or Alive, and many more.

Bruno joined Dancing with the Stars in 2005 along with legendary Late Len Goodman and Carrie Ann. He is known for his descriptive comments on the performances of the participants. In season 33, the audience can anticipate more descriptive references coming their way.

Derek Hough

Derek Hough was born on May 17, 1985, in Utah, US. He is a trained Latin and Ballroom dancer and choreographer who entered the cast of Dancing with the Stars as a professional dancer from 2007 to 2016. He has also served as a judge on NBC's World of Dance. The Ballroom dancer has won Emmy Awards four times so far.

He joined DWTS as a judge alongside Carre Ann, and Bruno Tonioli in the 29th season, and the trio has been the constant at the table.

The audience can tune into ABC and Disney+ at 8/7 C on September 17, 2024, to watch the premiere of Dancing with the Stars.
