Katie Ginella talks about joining The Real Housewives of Orange County
When asked in her confessional what interest she was bringing to the show, Katie said she was extremely interested in fashion. To her, it's like an art and expression.
Katie shared that The Real Housewives of Orange County fans were not happy with the fact that she was using a stylist team on the show. She explained that she is a busy woman and doesn't want to worry about styling herself when she has to do a lot of work.
"But my whole thing is, if I am working if I am making these new friends in Orange County, if my husband is traveling, I have four kids in sports and dogs... If I have one less thing to do, other than check off and mark off things I like, I gotta do that," Katie explained.
Katie's move from San Diego to Orange County was pretty seamless. She said that she and her family did not fit in well with San Diego, and Orange County felt like home from day one, and she loved the place.
In an interview with PopCulture on July 10, 2024, she talked about her excitement about joining the show. She said that she was glad to be the first "Korean Housewife across the franchises" and that the show would be a "cool marketing opportunity” for her business.
However, things were not all roses for her on the show. She had a beef with her castmate Heather Dubrow, who thought the new arrival had "pre-conceived notions" to join the RHOOC group. Heather said in one of the episodes of season 18 that she would have welcomed Katie with an open arm if she had gotten to know her organically.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 is available to stream on Bravo.
