Who did Lauren-Michael pick in The Voice season 26? Contestant’s rendition of Oceans earns her a 4-Chair-Turn

The Voice season 26 aired episode 5, The Blind Auditions part 5, on Monday, October 16, 2024. The segment saw another set of singers take to the stage in hopes of earning a spot in one of the coaches' teams.

One such singer was Lauren-Michael Sellers who sang Oceans (Where My Feet May Fall) by Samuel Harness. All four coaches were impressed by the singer's performance and wanted her on their teams. The singer chose the country singer and actress Reba McEntire as her mentor of the season and joined Team Reba.

Lauren-Michael Sellers became one of three contestants who joined Team Reba in episode 5. Others included Deon Jones, who sang Little Ghetto Baby, and Tshola, who sang On My Mama.

Lauren-Michael Sellers appeared on The Voice season 26 in episode 5. Ahead of her Blind Auditions performance, she told the cameras she was the oldest of five siblings.

She revealed that her mother suffered from severe mental health issues due to which, she was unable to care for them properly. She added that her mother wasn't "always able to be a mom."

"I had to grow up very fast. When you love someone who is Jekyll and Hyde, you don't trust. You question everything. You really doubt who you are," she added.

The singer revealed her mother lost custody of her children when Lauren-Michaels was 13 years old. As a result, she had to live with her father with whom she didn't have a close relationship. To battle the loneliness, the contestant turned to singing and songwriting.

Lauren-Michael Sellers said that she didn't think she would make it and felt it was "incredible" to have a chance to follow her dreams, "even at 35."

As her performance commenced, Gwen Stefani pressed her buzzer, expressing how much she loved Oceans by Samuel Harness. Michael Bublé and Rebe McEntire followed suit and Snoop Dogg pressed his buzzer just before the song ended.

Bublé praised her and said Lauren was a "beautiful breath of fresh air" and complimented her voice and control. He stated The Voice season 26 contestant "brought this beautiful energy" and the "whole place just blew up."

Gwen Stefani recalled a spiritual moment while listening to Oceans not too long ago. She complimented the singer and said it was "very real and honest." The remaining coaches, Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire said they turned their chairs seeing Gwen's expressions.

Snoop Dogg told the contestant that she saw Gwen "light up" during the performance and compared the moment to "God" entering the building. He added that he didn't want to be left out when "He came."

The Voice season 26 coach Reba said watching and listening to Lauren-Michael Sellers' performance felt "magical." She added that she loved her voice and the emotion behind it.

When it came down to deciding whose team Sellers should join, The Voice season 26 contestant said that she sang Reba's prayer before she came on the stage. She chose Team Reba. The coach felt emotional when Lauren picked her up and began to tear up, calling her decision unexpected.


Who was picked on The Voice season 26 in episode 5?

The latest episode of the NBC singing reality song saw several singers take to the stage. Out of those, the following left an impact and earned a spot on the show.

Lauren-Micheal Seller, Deon Jones and Tsola joined Team Reba while Eliza Pryor, Mary McAvoy and Brad Sample joined Team Snoop. Michael Bublé welcomed two new singers into his team - Cameron Wright and Mark Shiiba - while Team Gwen's numbers went up by three with Kay Sibal, BEYA and Camryn Books.


The Voice season 26 will wrap up the Blind Audition segment on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
