Who are the new couples in Love Island USA season 6? Recoupling results explored

In the latest episode of Love Island USA season 6, a recoupling changed the relationship dynamics in the Fijian villa. The episode that aired on Friday, June 28, featured the formation of new couples, some expected and others unexpected. Every islander, from original cast members to the newest 'bombshells,' tried to forge connections, explore their options, and test their compatibility with the others.

A challenge in the episode called Flex Appeal left many reconsidering their choices. Seven couples emerged from the recoupling, marking the end for one Love Island USA season 6 cast member. The couples were Cassidy and Rob, JaNa and Kenny, Kaylor and Aaron, Leah and Miguel, Liv and Nigel, Kendall and Nicole, and Serena and Kordell.

Leah chooses Miguel over Connor in episode 16 of Love Island USA season 6

Ahead of the recoupling, Love Island USA cast members saw Leah kissing Miguel. Connor felt vulnerable about his position in the villa since Leah had already confessed she had moved on from him and did not harbor any romantic feelings. Similarly, Rob, whose partner, Andrea, was recently sent home, wondered if any girl would choose to couple up with him.

At the same time, Nicole appeared to be torn between Miguel and Kendall, both of whom she fancied. It was the girls' turn to pick who they wanted to match with. While some couples displayed a strong connection since the start of the competition, others grappled with the decision to select someone.

The first to decide was Serena, who had recently been on a date with Love Island USA 'bombshell' Nigel. While announcing the result, she chose to pair with her partner since day one, Kordell.

"I haven't had the easiest time in here, especially with the pace that I've moved in, he's been extremely understanding, loving, and makes me feel extremely good about myself," Serena said.

Next up was Kaylor, and she chose her current partner, The Traitors UK alum, Aaron. Her reason for choosing Aaron left the other islanders smiling, appreciating the couple's chemistry.

"My mom and my Mimi will actually adore this guy and I can actually see my family and him being besties for a very long time, and I know he'll take care of my mom. The boy I wanna couple up with is Aaron," Kaylor shared.

Cassidy had previously been on a date with Miguel but was also getting to know Connor and Rob. Rob kissed her during the challenge Flex Appeal which made Cassidy reconsider her options. Eventually, she coupled up with Rob, thinking there "could be something deeper."

Next up was Nicole, who, despite kissing Miguel in a previous episode and feeling infatuated with him, paired up with her current match, Kendall.

"I am developing real feelings for this boy. The boy I wanna couple up with is Kendall," said Nicole.

Liv, Miguel's partner, struggled to announce her decision. She revealed that she had to follow her heart and did not want to see someone go home. After much contemplation, she chose Nigel to be her partner. With Connor, Kenny, and Miguel in the bottom three, Liv knew Connor's chances of survival were slim.

JaNa coupled up with Love Island USA's newest single, Kenny. She complimented his "vibes" and his eye contact. She revealed that he gave her the energy that she wanted.

At last, it was Leah's turn, who had drifted apart from Connor, her partner. She paired with Miguel, leading to Connor's elimination. While making her decision, Leah confessed:

"I'm feeling really anxious and I think I've grown to love everyone in the villa and it's just really hard to make decisions based on yourself, but, at the end of the day you just kind of have to put yourself first."

The Love Island USA season 6 cast members bid a tearful farewell to Connor. In his exit confessional, Connor shared that he would continue his quest for love and believed he would find the right girl.
