In episode 2 of The Traitors season 3, several contestants were eliminated through a combination of strategic choices and a game twist. Yin was the first to be "murdered" by the Traitors, while Fozia, Jack, and Alexander were eliminated during a twist in the game.
The twist required each carriage to sacrifice one contestant to reduce the number of players entering the castle, which led to Fozia, Jack, and Alexander’s early exits.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, is a game of deception where a group of contestants must work together to identify the traitors among them while others try to remain undetected.
The Traitors season 3 episode 2 elimination overview
Yin's elimination
Yin, age 34, a Doctor of Communication from Berkshire, was the first contestant to be "murdered" by the traitors in episode 2. The traitors—Minah, Armani, and Linda—decided to target Yin due to her intelligence, which they viewed as a potential threat to their efforts. After the traitors made their decision, Yin was informed that she had been "murdered" in the night.
When asked by BBC about why she joined the show, she answered:
"The Traitors is about rhetoric - the art and science of persuasive communication. This is my specialty, and I am so obsessed with it that I have a PhD from Oxford in the subject."
Fozia's voluntary departure
Fozia, age 50, a Community Development Manager from Birmingham, decided to leave the game voluntarily in response to a twist. The contestants were informed that one person from each group needed to leave so that 22 contestants could proceed to the castle.
Fozia chose to step forward and sacrifice herself, deciding to leave the game for the good of the group.
When asked by BBC about why she joined the show, she responded:
"It was on my bucket list. I have been watching all the previous series, and it's not like any other programme."
Jack’s voluntary departure
Jack, age 24 at the time of filming (now 25), a Market Trader and Landscaper from Yorkshire, also exited the game voluntarily in episode 2. Following Claudia Winkleman’s announcement that one person from each group needed to leave, Jack decided to be the one to exit his carriage.
Despite his brief time on the show, Jack chose to step down as part of the twist that required contestants to leave for the game to proceed. When asked by BBC about why he joined the show, he said:
"My mum told me to apply, funnily enough...Also, the money isn't such a terrible incentive...So, mother and money!"
Alexander’s voluntary decision
Alexander, age 38, a Former British Diplomat from London, was the fourth contestant to leave the game in episode 2. Alexander did not initially express a strong desire to leave, but when the announcement was made, he chose to voluntarily step down, following the game’s twist, which required a contestant from each group to exit.
When asked by BBC about why he joined the show, he said:
"Firstly, I love doing new things, and I always take opportunities where I can....Secondly, I think it would be fun to bring my diplomatic skills to the game"
