The Traitors UK season 3 episode 6 aired on January 10, 2025, and saw tensions run high as alliances were tested while new suspicions arose. It also featured an elimination as a player was banished after a roundtable discussion.
Dan, a Bank Risk Manager from Liverpool was eliminated in the episode. The contestant had been playing a bold and independent game, but the roundtable highlighted his increasingly reckless approach.
Dan's exit marked a significant shift in the dynamics of the game as the remaining players continued to navigate the challenge of trust, deception, and strategy.
Dan's elimination in The Traitors UK Season 3 episode 6
In the latest episode of The Traitors UK, Minah, who was playing a relatively under-the-radar game, received some attention for her tactics. Meanwhile, Dan, who played more recklessly, made the mistake of openly suggesting that a Traitor could be someone he was close to. This stirred suspicion but didn't immediately lead to his elimination.
At the same time, another Traitor, Linda found herself under increased scrutiny, especially after displaying emotional reactions following Livi's departure. Despite being a major target for much of the season, Linda survived another round of elimination, while Dan's perceived self-interest led to his banishment. His exit allowed Minah and Linda to continue their strategies for at least one more roundtable in The Traitors UK.
Dan's strategic mindset
Dan, a 33-year-old bank risk manager from Liverpool, shared his strategic approach to The Traitors UK season 3 in an interview with the BBC. He was drawn to the show because of his love for strategy games and the opportunity to test his skills in a high-stakes environment.
"I've always loved strategy games; I've always loved the opportunity to see how people manipulate and deceive in different types of games," he explained.
Dan stated that he admired how the story of previous seasons unfolded and looked forward to becoming part of it. He expressed his desire to try something out of the ordinary and see if he could perform in a game full of manipulations and deceptions.
Dan spoke about his strategy in The Traitors UK and said that he thought for himself rather than falling prey to groupthink. He noted that he didn't "tend to follow group thinking" as he was "quite steadfast" in his own opinions. He also said that his autism allowed him to be less influenced by social pressures, and he sees this as both an advantage and a potential source of alienation.
"I’ll be quite honest with what I say and sometimes that can make me an outcast," he added.
Dan's strategy on The Traitors UK revolved around adaptability and forming alliances that served his interests, no matter whether those allies were Faithfuls or Traitors. He explained that his plan was to ensure that he had "enough people in the game" who had his "best interests at heart, no matter what side of the fence they're on."
The cast member planned to play a self-interested game, using shields and other strategic moves to his advantage, even if it meant taking risks.
"I don't mind playing a really self-interested game where it doesn't matter whether somebody is a Traitor or a Faithful, all that matters is that this increases my odds to go further," he said.
The next episode of The Traitors UK is set to be aired on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, exclusively on BBC iPlayer.
