More details on Ava Manning's The Voice UK grand finale performances
The final four started out with solo performances on the grand finale night, which were followed by duet performances, where they sang with their coaches. Fingers were crossed for Ava's first performance because her song was changed to The Long And Winding Road by The Beatles only 48 hours before the finale.
As soon as she finished singing, will.i.am called it "spectacular, while Sir Tom Jones revealed that Sir Paul McCartney wrote the song for him but they couldn't record it in time. He added:
"I’ve always loved that song and every time I hear anybody do it I think, 'My God, I should have recorded that song'. You did a wonderful job with that song,".
Tom Fletcher, Ava's coach said her performance made him cry, while Danny Jones enumerated that she gave her whole heart to it. For her duet, Ava sang an emotional rendition of The Reason by Hoobastank, alongside her mentors. The dog groomer was highly praised for both her performances.
As soon as she was declared the winner, her coaches Tom and Danny rushed to the stage to congratulate her. When host Emma Willis asked her how she felt, Ava said:
"Speechless, like I am every time. I’m probably a bit more speechless this time, but forever grateful".
Turning to her co-stars standing with her on the finale stage she said:
"And these lot, they’re amazing, so I feel really honoured".
Ava's journey to the grand finale on The Voice UK 2024, season 13
The Blind Auditions episode 2 of The Voice UK 2024 was an epoch-making one because it chose 3 out of the four finalists in the competitions. Ava too came nestled in Tom and Danny's team on the same episode alongside, Deb Orah and Storry who chose their respective teams. All three of them got four chair turns so they had an array of options to choose from.
Ava had sung Damn Your Eyes by Etta James here. Viewers saw her again in the Callbacks segment of the show, where a celebrity singer from outside would mentor them. Tom and Danny's team was mentored by Perrie Edwards and she sang Smells Like Team Spirit by Nirvana.
The Callbacks kept three contestants on each team and eliminated the rest. Olvia Rogers and Kyra Smith remained on Tom and Danny's team alongside Ava. However, the two were sent home in the semi-finals after Ava performed God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.
The final results of The Voice UK were determined based on the public votes the artists received. Ava topped them and took home the coveted title.
