Tammy Slaton, one of the stars of 1000-lb Sisters, has expressed frustration with her siblings Amanda Halterman, Chris Combs, and Misty Wentworth. These tensions stem from disagreements over housing arrangements, unmet expectations for emotional and logistical support, and communication challenges.

During the show's Season 6, Tammy addressed several grievances that have contributed to the strain in her relationships with her family. She called attention to how these issues have played out in affecting her sense of connection and trust within the family dynamic.

At the heart of the matter is Tammy's perception that her family, although supportive sometimes, has not systematically produced the support or understanding that she perceives she needs, at least from the change she undertakes to her daily life following these significant weight-loss achievements.

Tammy Slaton’s journey toward better health has been both physically demanding and emotionally taxing. At her heaviest, Tammy weighed 725 pounds and faced severe health complications, which she explained pushed her to make significant changes.

After recovering from a life-threatening medical episode, Tammy checked herself into a rehabilitation facility, where she focused on treating her food addiction and improving her health.

Following rehabilitation, Tammy underwent bariatric surgery, losing approximately 500 pounds. While the Slaton family members have consistently supported each other during their weight-loss journeys, Tammy highlighted that her relationship with her siblings became strained after she returned home.

"When I got out of rehab I had no place to go because my old place got robbed," she said in a 1000-lb Sisters confessional.

She underscored feelings of isolation, citing that the support she experienced during rehab seemed to diminish once she was back in Kentucky.

Conflict between Tammy and Amanda Halterman

After completing rehabilitation, Tammy moved into a house owned by her sister Amanda Halterman. However, this arrangement quickly led to tensions. Tammy emphasized specific grievances, including a broken window she claimed Amanda’s sons damaged, stating that Amanda did not address the issue promptly. In a confessional Amanda shared:

"This is a brand new Aunt Tammy for my boys this is something they have never experienced in their entire life but lately it's almost like she's become entitled."

During another heated exchange, Tammy expressed how hurt and betrayed she felt after being asked to leave Amanda's house. She emphasized that she would never treat Amanda the same way, highlighting the deep emotional toll the situation had on her. In a 1000-lb Sisters confessional, she said:

"I feel like Amanda just threw me out of the house like a piece of trash. I would have never done that to her, never. And nobody tried to stop it. That is not how family should act."

Tammy made a strong statement about her relationship with her sister Amanda Halterman, saying:

"As far as I care Amanda's dead to me. I don't have a sister named Amanda."

Issues with Chris Combs and Misty Wentworth

In addition to her conflict with Amanda, Tammy also expressed dissatisfaction with her siblings Chris Combs and Misty Wentworth. She highlighted that Misty, who had been in regular contact during her stay in rehab, significantly reduced communication after Tammy returned home. Tammy explained that this change made her feel abandoned.

Similarly, Tammy emphasized her frustration with Chris, stating that while he helped with practical matters such as covering the broken window, he had not been as emotionally present as she had hoped. During a 1000-lb Sisters confessional Chris stated:

"I know that Amanda and Tammy are having some issues kind of always been that way though because them two have always fought kind of off and on their whole life."

These perceived lapses in support added to Tammy’s sense of isolation and contributed to her strained relationships with both Chris and Misty.
