Love is Blind UK released its second installment of episodes, i.e. episodes 5 to 9 on Wednesday, August 14. It saw the couples in the final phase of the experiment, where they moved in together for the ultimate test of their compatibility before they went to the altar.

Like the other couples, Freddie also met Catherine's friends and family in episode 9. They interrogated him to understand his personality and to gauge his future compatibility with Catherine. Her friends demanded to know what were some of the disagreements between the two.

Freddie admitted that he thought she was high-maintenance and liked indulging in materialistic things. When Freddie was away, Catherine told her friends that he had asked her to sign a prenup before the marriage.

They thought that was unfair and "controlling" of him. By the end of the meeting, they took to a confessional to deduce that they didn't think their relationship would last.

Why exactly did Love is Blind UK star Catherine's friends think her relationship wasn't going to last?

Catherine brought her friends, Tally and DOT to meet Freddie at a bar, on Love is Blind UK episode 9. Their conversation started with Tally remarking that she thought Freddie was going to be pale, but he wasn't. Then, Catherine started laughing when her friend asked him what he did for a living.

He rhetorically asked her what was so funny, then said that he was a funeral director. Tally asked if it was sad to work there. He said it was sad but he had to support people's families in their most difficult times.

Tally then asked if there were things in their relationship that they wanted to work on before tying the knot. And DOT asked if there were any doubts at the moment. Freddie answered:

"I feel like I'm a bit more chill than Cat, and I know Cat tells me, 'I'm not about going out and going to bougie places and doing all this'....And don't get me wrong I love going out for a meal every now and then,"

Cat interrupted him and said but he didn't drink and didn't go out, which he agreed to. DOT then asked him if he thought Cat was high-maintenance and he said he did. He then opened up about his worries about their lifestyles being different. He thought that he wouldn't be able to satisfy her.

When Freddie went away to get them drinks, Catherine revealed to her friends his decision to get a prenup done. Tally thought it was a bit controlling and specifically asked her if she had anything for herself in the prenup, Catherine responded, "I don't think so".

DOT took it as a sign that he was already thinking of separating. When Catherine said except for the prenup thing, she liked everything about him. DOT added that they needed to give each reassurance because they seemed to be in "different boots". In her final verdict, Tally said in a Love is Blind UK confessional:

"I would 100% be supportive of the relationship but could he match her lifestyle? Cat is not a house hermit and I felt he very much was. He's very much, like, sit at home, beans on toast sort of thing....And I just think in my heart that it probably won't work".

It remains to be seen, how Freddie and Catherine's doubts translate on the Love is Blind UK altar and if they end up saying yes.

Episodes 10 and 11 of Love is Blind UK drop on August 21 on Netflix.
