Love Is Blind premiered the first six episodes of season 7 on October 2, 2024, and features 14 single men and 15 single women who join the experiment in hopes of finding a partner for life. In the show, the singles are stripped of their phones among other distractions when they are in the pods. The show's hosts are Nick and Vanessa Lachey, who have been married since 2011.

In season 7 of Love Is Blind, six couples were chosen who moved forward to the honeymoon phase of their relationship and traveled to Mexico. Brittany and Leo were one of the couples who got engaged but the makers of the show decided that their journey would not be followed further which is revealed through a title card in episode 5 which also revealed that the couple broke up afterwards.

In an interview with Variety, creator and executive producer Chris Coelen revealed that they try to follow the lead of the cast as the outcome is not pre-decided. So, the production team decides on the couples who they think are more "authentic" and genuinely want to go through the experiment and find love.

“We make a decision as to which couples we think are authentic. And when I say authentic, I mean most authentically likely to actually be at the altar and say I do," said Chris.

He further stated:

The couple that I think we felt least likely to do that were Leo and Brittany. So, we made a decision not to follow them after the pods ended.”

Monetary issues prevent more couples from moving forward in Love Is Blind

During the journey of Love Is Blind, the cast members are not allowed to see each other as the men and women of Love Is Blind are kept separated in different areas as they communicate through voice forcing them to form a genuine connection.

In the previous seasons, the makers followed the journey of five couples, a fact that Chris reiterates while explaining the reasoning behind Brittany and Leo's omission along with budget issues that come with more cast and crew.

“We film everything as it happens, and then after it ends, we piece together how we got there. We have the budget to follow five couples and sometimes we stretch to six couples, and we figure out how to stack our crews,” stated Chris.

Brittany didn't feel connected to Leo after the reveal

Brittany and Leo immediately connected as they both had similar backgrounds with both being single children in their family and both lost their mothers to cancer. Determined to not trauma-bond, they built a good foundation as they got to know each other better on the pods of Love Is Blind. Problems started rising when Leo revealed he was confused between Brittany and Hannah.

This created a rift in Leo and Hannah's bond as well and the latter chose Nick as her partner. Leo later proposed to Brittany through a rhyming proposal poem and Brittany finally agreed.

In an interview with Tudum, Leo revealed that during the time of the reveal, he felt something was not quite right. Recalling the incident, he noted that Brittany looked beautiful, but maybe he "wasn't quite her type".

Brittany on her end revealed that Leo looked exactly as she had expected but when they met, she could feel a shift in the energy that she didn't fancy calling. She confessed that even though they could talk behind a wall on Love Is Blind sets very comfortably, when they finally met she knew that Leo was not her husband as she was very intuitive.
