Dancing With the Stars fans might be disappointed as the popular dance competition won’t be airing tonight in its usual Tuesday 8 pm EST time slot. The impending vice presidential debate between Senator J.D. Vance and Governor Tim Walz, which will be televised on major networks, is the cause of this gap.
The channel will screen the ABC News Special: Race for the White House at 8 pm EST, instead of Dancing With the Stars season 33, and then the live debate at 9 pm EST. The hosts of the debate, Margaret Brennan of Face the Nation and Norah O'Donnell of CBS Evening News, are likely to draw a lot of attention and ABC might have to pause its regularly scheduled programs.
Several networks, including ABC, have rescheduled their usual programming to guarantee that people can see this national event, even if CBS is hosting the debate.
Dancing with the Stars will air two episodes on October 7, and October 8
The fans will swiftly catch up with the action. Next week, Dancing With the Stars will make a comeback with two consecutive episodes that will run at 8 pm ET on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8. The caption of the show's recent Facebook post reads:
"No #DWTS tonight means double the dancing next week! The 2-night event begins next Monday, Oct. 7, and Tuesday, Oct. 8."
The Monday episode, titled Soul Train Night, will see dance forms such as the jive, foxtrot, rumba, quickstep, and Viennese waltz. However, this broadcast will not feature live voting; instead, it will be pre-recorded.
The Tuesday episode is titled Hair Metal Night, which will also be the theme of that night. It will have both public votes and judges' ratings, deciding the future of contestants on the show.
What happened on DWTS week 2?
Week two brought a dramatic double-elimination on Dancing With the Stars. "Notorious ankle bracelet fashionista" Anna Delvey and her partner Ezra Sosa were among those sent home, along with reality TV star Tori Spelling and her partner Pasha Pashkov.
The competition is now getting intense as the remaining 11 contestants prepare for the upcoming challenges. Here are the top five performances from Week 2, based on judges' scores:
- Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong – Scored a 24 for their Rumba performance.
- Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson – Scored a 22 for their Rumba.
- Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach – Scored a 22 for their Foxtrot.
- Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold – Scored a 22 for their Paso Doble.

While these stars shone on the dance floor, others weren’t as fortunate, with Anna Delvey and Tori Spelling being eliminated after scoring 17 and 19, respectively.
