The Masked Singer is a reality competition series on FOX. In the show, celebrities sing behind intricate costumes to disguise their identity, as panelists and viewers try to figure out who's singing behind the masks. Hosted by Nick Cannon, while Group A's Buffaloes already made it to the quarterfinals of season 12, the audience will have to wait to see who else makes it to the next level.
Reportedly, The Masked Singer season 12 will not air on October 30 as originally planned. Instead, FOX will broadcast Game 5 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Group B finals have been rescheduled for November 6, where the remaining contestants will compete for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Why isn’t The Masked Singer season 12 on tonight?
Tonight’s episode (ie October 30) of The Masked Singer season 12 was rescheduled to accommodate FOX’s broadcast of the World Series. Game 5 of the championship series, featuring the New York Yankees against the Los Angeles Dodgers, replaces the regularly scheduled programming.
With the Dodgers currently leading 3-1, the World Series matchup takes precedence on FOX’s lineup. This is the first scheduling shift for season 12, allowing the show to resume next week without further interruptions. The broadcast change is temporary, and the show is set to continue as planned after the World Series concludes.
When does The Masked Singer season 12 return?
The Masked Singer will return on November 6 with the Group B finals, featuring contestants Bluebell, Goo, and Wasp competing under the show’s ‘60s Night theme. This episode is expected to include a double elimination, with two of the three remaining contestants' revelations.
After the Group B finals, season 12 will introduce Group C on November 13, adding new contestants to the competition. This scheduling will allow the show to progress toward the quarterfinals without further interruptions and maintain the sequence of planned episodes.
Season 12 highlights so far
Throughout season 12, the show has introduced audiences to various celebrity contestants, each unmasked as they leave the competition. Group A has already seen Buffalos secure a spot in the quarterfinals, with Paula Cole (Ship), Marsai Martin (Woodpecker), Yvette Nicole Brown (Showbird), and John Elway (Leaf Sheep) unmasked in prior episodes.
In Group B, Andy Richter and Laverne Cox were recently unmasked as Dust Bunny and Chess Piece, respectively. With Bluebell, Goo, and Wasp still in the running, viewers await the Group B finals to see which contestant will advance to the next stage.
The stakes of the Group B finals
With the Group B finals now scheduled for November 6, Bluebell, Goo, and Wasp will perform once again as they compete for a spot in the quarterfinals. The upcoming episode’s double elimination may narrow the field further.
However, the panelists could opt to use the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell. This could extend one contestant’s place in the competition, depending on the panel’s decision.
The delayed airing of the Group B finals has momentarily paused the progression of Season 12. However, the show’s schedule will proceed as planned, resuming with Group C on November 13 and continuing toward the season’s conclusion.
