Love is Blind: Mexico premiered on Thursday, August 1, 2024. It released four episodes that featured eligible singles mingling with each other, hoping to form romantic connections. However, they were restricted from seeing the person they interacted with.
As a result, the cast members were compelled to engage in deep and meaningful conversations to understand the personality and mindset of the person they were talking to. These discussions often revealed crucial information about an individual. In episode 2, Karen Torales rejected Saul Reyes because he refused to accept her views on physical intimacy.
Karen revealed that she pursued relationships where a third individual's entry was also welcomed. She admitted that her preferences were atypical, however, she refused to form a connection with someone who could not accept her for who she was.
Saul struggled to see how he could integrate her lifestyle into a marriage. Feeling disrespected by Love is Blind: Mexico cast member's opinion, Karen assumed it was best to sever ties between them.
Love is Blind: Mexico's Saul felt uncomfortable with Karen's understanding of physical intimacy
In episode 2 of Love is Blind: Mexico, the contestants continued to interact with each other and discuss sensitive topics. Karen talked to both Saul and Fernando. However, she felt she had a stronger connection with Saul since they both had children and knew the hardships of raising them as single parents.
"Saul is everything I've ever wanted. He gives me a sense of security and stability. I like the idea of being with him," said Karen.
During her conversation with Fernando, Karen revealed she preferred being experimental in her relationships. She wanted her partner to accept her lifestyle and join her in experiencing "new things." She added that she did not feel jealous when a third individual entered a relationship. On the contrary, it added to the thrill of the experience.
"A lot of men are intimidated by the way I handle the topic of s*xuality. But I like to be upfront and say what I want at the start of something. And I wouldn't want to be with someone who wasn't able to satisfy me in that way," stated Karen.
While talking with Saul about physical intimacy, Karen asked for his opinion on experimental relationships. He stated that he would be uncomfortable seeing his partner get close to another man. Irrespective of preferences, he would be compelled to consider it unfaithful.
While speaking to the cameras, Saul noted that he could never do that in a marriage. However, Karen was unimpressed by his response.
"I think I need a man who can completely separate pleasure from love," said Karen.
After returning to the men's lounge, the Love is Blind: Mexico star sought the male cast members' input. They informed Saul that it was unusual to broach such a topic so early in the experiment. He vented his frustration for having to discuss Karen's intimate preferences before solidifying their emotional connection.
"No, dude. It's just not how it's done," stated Saul.
During his confessional, the Love is Blind: Mexico star revealed that Karen's experimental approach to physical intimacy bothered him. He also struggled to find common interests with her.
When Karen spoke with Saul, she quickly recognized a shift in his energy and questioned him about it.
"I really like the way you view your s*xuality. I find it very attractive. But at the same time, I don't know if I'd be able to integrate it into my day-to-day life and a marriage," confessed Saul.
Karen could not believe what she heard and knew it was time to cut ties with him.
"How dare you judge me just because I'm a woman? What kind of mentality do you have?" said Karen.
She told the Love is Blind: Mexico cast member that she did not wish to see him anymore and left the pod midway. She refused to let herself get "swayed by others." She added that she came to the experiment "to choose, not to be chosen."
Later in the episode, Karen got engaged to Fernando, whereas Saul paired with Leti.
Love is Blind: Mexico is currently streaming only on Netflix.
