Love is Blind: Argentina premiered on November 6 on Netflix and introduced a new group of Latin American singles as they try to form a bond and find love that looks past the appearance of a person.
Matias and Brenda were two of the hopeful singles who established a connection inside the pods through their several dates, without seeing each other. The couple got engaged and hoped to further explore their relationship as they advanced in the honeymoon week.
However, when Matias saw Brenda for the first time, he started to have second thoughts. He told her Love is Blind fiance that he needed to "feel more secure" and that, he would have to go back to his hometown.
The idea of the proposal made him realize that he was way too anxious about it and not in a good place, hence he decided to leave. While the couple did not break up, they left the show after Matias expressed his desire to rather pursue his connection with Brenda, outside the show.
Love is Blind: Argentina Matias explains his exit
Love is Blind: Argentina star Brenda formed an instant connection with Matias, feeling safe enough to share vulnerable moments from her life. She told him about her kids and the passing of their father.
Touched by her openness, Matias proposed to Brenda and hoped to start a relationship with her. While he was nervous to meet her he was confident in the bond they shared inside the pods.
"I'm really nervous. My hands are sweating. And I'm shaking. This is definitely the most important moment of my life, I can't imagine what she looks like, no, but I know that we had a very good connection in the pods, and I believe in trusting that first impression. Now, all that's left to do is meet," the Love is Blind: Argentina star said in his confessional.
Brenda shared her feelings of nervousness and hoped that she was "pretty enough" for Matias. She believed that Love is Blind and hoped that once she met Matias they would "spend a lifetime together".
As soon as the doors opened and the Love is Blind: Argentina stars saw each other, Brenda had a smile on her face while Matias' expressions reflected his second thoughts. He asked his partner to hold him as he was shaking and told her that his whole body was tense. Matias further expressed in his confessional that his mind was "spinning" and he was "feeling all sorts of things".
Sharing her happiness, Brenda was speechless and described her connection with Matias as "Wow". She told her Love is Blind: Argentina partner that she usually preferred a lot of structure in her life. She took a risk coming on the show, however, she said that it was worth it.
While Brenda was excited to start her new part of life with Matias, he expressed his doubts. He told Brenda:
"In order for the two of us to continue… I need to feel more secure. I really do want to get to know you better. But it should be outside this experiment... I think, before continuing with this, and taking the next step with you, I need to go home to La Carlota."
Brenda reacted that it wasn't something that she expected. However, she wanted to continue her relationship with her partner and accepted his wishes. She later said in her confessional that she was choosing to believe him for now, and if he was lying, she shared that she would eventually find out.
Explaining his decision to leave the show and go back to his hometown, Matias said in his confessional:
"The idea of the proposal made me realize that I was way too anxious about it and not in a good place. and I realized that I need to be strong, and clear, and resolute in my decision, to be able to truly commit and take that next step. To move forward."
