“You have a big ego”— Love is Blind Habibi star Hajar and Simo have a disagreement on their first date

Love is Blind Habibi premiered on Netflix on October 10. The reality show returned with Arabian singles, helping them find love that looked past the physical appearance of a person.

Hajar and Simo were one of the four couples who got engaged after forming a bond inside the pods. They joined the other engaged couples on a holiday trip to have a better understanding of their future life partner.

During their first date during the trip, they discussed their possible future after marriage and where they would live together. During the conversation, Hajar asked Simo about his passion, to which he replied that he didn't specifically have one.

Hajar suggested that she could be his passion. However, the retail business owner replied with an uncertain answer. Reacting to his reply, she told him:

"You have a big ego."

Hajar and Simo reunited at their holiday location in episode 4 after getting engaged earlier. Simo asked Hajar if she was ready for marriage, and the 29-year-old replied that before making such a big decision, she would need to know about her fiance and get a better understanding of him.

The couple clashed over where they wanted to live after their marriage. Simo shared that he runs his family business in Morocco, which was the best place for him. However, Hajar preferred Dubai, as her life was rooted there, and she felt she would lose her freedom if she moved to Morocco with Simo.

Simo believed that freedom was to be next to family. He further reasoned:

"If my business, if everything that my father and grandfather did is in Morocco, what should I do in Dubai? Sell ice cream?"

The Love is Blind Habibi contestant further shared in his confessional that they had "some different perspectives on things." However, he acknowledged that having different perspectives didn't mean that his fiance was not a good person.

Later in their date, Simo confronted Hajar about her behavior toward the waitress, pointing out how she disrespected her for being late with her dish. He felt that her treatment was inappropriate and that she shouldn't have done that in his presence.

"Why did you talk to that poor girl like that? -That was inappropriate. That's not good, by the way. You shouldn't have done that in my presence. I'll leave the restaurant," Simo told Hajar.

However, Hajar felt that his reaction was inappropriate and that her Love is Blind Habibi fiance should support her. Simo remained firm in his stance, stating that he wouldn't support her when she disrespects others.

Hajar explained her behavior, admitting that she can sometimes be rude to others. She reacted the way she did because, in her view, the waitress had been late with her order. Reacting to her explanation, Simo questioned her behavior in his confessional and said:

"The fact is, if you have nothing nice to say, you say something that will hurt other people's feelings?"

The Love is Blind Habibi star then told his fiance that he didn't like the situation and stood up to leave the date. After their date, Hajar expressed that the couple had closing characteristics that challenged each other. She said:

"My character is a little challenging for him, and even his character has some challenging points for me. We'll either drive each other mad or fall madly in love."
