The Love Is Blind Season 7 reunion brought together the pod squad for an intense and emotion-filled episode. After a year since the weddings, co-hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey led the cast in revisiting key moments and addressing unresolved issues.
The reunion gave fans insight into each relationship’s current status and shed light on some of the season’s most shocking moments. One such moment came when Marissa’s mother, Vanessa, confronted Ramses over his decision to call off the engagement days before the wedding. She said,
"She would've carried that relationship. And so he did the right thing. She really felt like when she came into this experiment, she was going to meet her one. And you broke her, I had to help pick her up."
The Love is Blind reunion brought Marissa to tears as she relived the moment, while Ramses, too, reflected on his regrets. Marissa's mother thanked Ramses for calling it off and said she was devastated.
Ramses' response to his decision to break the engagement in Love is Blind
Ramses faced strong criticism during the Love is Blind reunion, especially from Marissa's mother, who expressed her disappointment in him. She recounted how the sudden breakup left Marissa emotionally shattered, emphasizing how difficult it was to witness her daughter’s pain.
Marissa, visibly emotional and in tears, shared that rewatching their final conversation felt like “heartbreak all over again.” Ramses, however, attempted to provide his side, explaining that his hesitation came from a genuine place of concern and that he had hoped to avoid leading Marissa into an uncertain future.
He admitted,
“I came to that realization toward the end of this experience,” acknowledging the challenging timing of his decision and how it hurt Marissa.
Ramses also clarified a misunderstood conversation around contraception, addressing rumors about him issuing ultimatums. He explained that he never intended to pressure Marissa but rather wanted an open conversation about their expectations, though he regrets how it was perceived.
This candid explanation provided insight into Ramses’ perspective on a sensitive topic, but it did little to change Marissa and her mother's point of view.
Marissa's perspective in Love is Blind reunion
The Love is Blind reunion allowed Marissa and her mother to express the emotional aftermath of the broken engagement. She expressed relief that Ramses ultimately ended the relationship, believing Marissa would have carried the burden alone. Vanessa remarked, "I’m thankful he called it off. [Marissa] would’ve carried that relationship, and so he did the right thing.”
While Marissa appreciated her mother’s support, she admitted that the sudden end devastated her. Her mother said that she did try talking to Ramses post the break-up and mentioned,
"I wanted to punch him in the throat."
Despite her mother's anger, Ramses acknowledged his part in the pain Marissa endured. He regretted how his concerns unfolded but maintained that his choice was ultimately for the best. He said,
"I should have been more forthcoming about those concerns I had earlier on. I didn't bring them up cause I wasn't sure at that moment."
He further said that it took him time to arrive at that place. Marissa responded that it was all 'I' in this relationship, and she never had a say in it. Ramses accepted this and took full accountability for breaking the engagement.
The reunion episode of Love is Blind season 7 is currently streaming on Netflix.
