"Trying to think of questions to ask you, ‘cause you’re nailing me left and right."

This interaction continued with Ty talking about his life, his focus on business since moving to Atlanta, and his openness to finding a partner. Meanwhile, the episode also explored Lori’s reflections on dating, her challenges in balancing a demanding career with personal relationships, and her hopes of finding love.

As a behavioral coach by day and a media correspondent by night, Lori admitted that dating wasn’t something she enjoyed but was a priority at this stage of her life.

Ty opens up during his date with Lori in The Later Daters

During their conversation in episode 4 of The Later Daters, Lori noted that Ty often looked to the side while speaking, which she admitted caught her attention and made her feel slightly disconnected. Ty addressed her concern directly, asking if she wanted him to focus entirely on her during their time together.

He assured her that he would, and he was definitely engaged with her in the whole conversation. Ty acknowledged that he was trying to think of questions to ask her to keep the chat engaging. When she talked about his behavior, he stated in a confessional:

"Did you see how she was kind of picking my behavior apart? I like it. That was stimulating me. I'm going. Ah..!"

Ty then shared more about his life, explaining that since moving to Atlanta, he had primarily focused on his career, which left little room for personal relationships. However, he revealed that he was now ready to dedicate time to finding someone meaningful. Ty mentioned that he valued deep conversations and enjoyed discussing topics that mattered to him.

Lori reflected on her dating challenges in The Later Daters

Lori reflected on her approach to dating, acknowledging how her busy career as a behavioral coach and media correspondent often took priority over her personal life. She shared that being single for over 15 years had shaped her perspective on relationships, making her hesitant to engage in the dating process.

However, she realized that at this stage of her life, it was time to make dating a priority. In a confessional, she mentioned:

"I hate dating, but it’s a priority at my age now because I want to be loved."

To help navigate this new phase, Lori turned to her family and the dating coach Logan Ury in The Later Daters. Her family encouraged her to take on this journey, and Logan provided her with advice to approach dating with a new mindset.

She advised Lori to be more vulnerable and open to creating connections, discussing the importance of stepping outside her comfort zone. Logan used the phrase:

"We need to get you from friend zone to end zone," to motivate Lori.

During her sessions with Logan, Lori also shared her vision for an ideal partner, someone who could understand her career aspirations and support her long-term goals.
