Love Is Blind is one of Netflix's most popular dating shows, and the franchise recently released another spin-off, Love Is Blind Habibi. The new series featured various Arab singles attempting to find the love of their lives as they participated in this social experiment.
The reality TV series premiered on October 10, 2024, and included participants from Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, and Jordan. Netflix released the reunion episode on November 1, 2024, featuring six couples who managed to find a partner and made it out of the pods.
The six couples were Chafic and Dounia, Mido and Nour, Khatab and Asma, Ammar and Karma, Safa and Mohammad, and Simo and Hajar. By the end of the show, only one couple agreed to marry each other, Safa and Mohammad.
During the reunion, the Love Is Blind Habibi couple talked about the audience having doubts over the authenticity of the show. Mohammad expressed that he understood their point of view, as he had his own doubts. He revealed that he didn't expect to get married through this experiment despite his desire to find a life partner.
To this, Safa couldn't help but finish her partner's sentiment when she stated:
"And you won the lottery," Safa said.
Mohammad believes Safa changed her life after meeting on Love Is Blind Habibi
The hosts of the show, Elham Ali and Khaled Saqer, returned to present the reunion episode. They asked the sole couple to get married on Love Is Blind whether they were happy after making such a transformative decision in their lives. Mohammad seemed unfazed and stated that even if he had the option to go back in time and change his decisions, he wouldn't do so.
He shared that marrying Safa was the best decision and changed his life completely. Safa chimed in, saying she was initially afraid of the process. She revealed that every time she entered the pods with Mohammad on the other side, she would leave happier as he met her priorities well.
"He matched my priorities perfectly. Family-oriented, career-oriented, open-minded, a little," Safa said.
Chafic disclosed that he often visited the married couple and couldn't help but think they were made for each other. The hosts then asked Chafic to name one good and one bad thing about Mohammad since the Love Is Blind Habibi participants were close. Chafic answered that Mohammad had a good heart but noted that his bad trait was being "very jealous."
While Safa took the remark humorously, Mohammad explained that he would remain a traditional man no matter where he went. This meant he became jealous whenever there was a reason to be. He further explained that the couple resolved this issue by discussing it.
Safa agreed with her Love Is Blind Habibi partner and asserted that the early part of marriage was difficult. She also revealed that despite Mohammad working on his issues, jealousy could sometimes turn into control. She praised their communication skills, which have helped them maintain their relationship.
Safa's heavy workload often kept her away from home for over a week at a time. When the hosts asked Mohammad how he felt when Safa was away, he revealed that despite his tendencies, he wanted the best for her and did not want to stand in her way of achieving success.
