The horrific murder of the San Antonio businesswoman, Andreen McDonald, hit the headlines in 2019. Andreen was a mother of a daughter and the co-owner of Starlight Homes Assisted Living with her husband, Andre who disappeared in March 2019.
As the investigation proceeded, the officers found starting evidence including the murder weapon inside the home. Andreen's remains were found in a field six miles away in July 2019 with severe blunt force trauma.

What happened to Andreen McDonald?
Andreen Nicole Anderson was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica to parents Hyacinth Ferron and Paul Anderson on September 23, 1989. She studied at the Norwich Primary School and completed her education at the Titchfield High School.
She had been an exceptional student throughout school and she went on to pursue an associate's degree in Business Studies along with a major in Marketing from Excelsior Community College. Andreen then earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from the University of Texas San Antonio. Andreen's mother, Maureen Smith, described her daughter as,
"She knows what she wants. And she would never stop until she get it."
Andreen met her partner, Air Force Major Andre Sean McDonald, in the Jamaican city of Port Antonio in 2009 and got married to him. She subsequently established her business, Starlight Homes Assisted Living, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 22. Andreen and Andre were partners in the business and the two became millionaires from the profits in no time.
According to A&E True Crime, the Assistant Criminal District Attorney of Bexar County, Steven Speir, shared,
“The McDonalds were making seven figures. Largely through her efforts.”
Andre and Andreen shared a daughter, Alayna, and the family settled down in Stone Oaks.
What happened to Andreen McDonald?
According to A&E, Andre and Andreen had an argument on February 28, 2019, over their business profits. Soon after, Andreen mysteriously disappeared on March 1, 2019, after she failed to show up at her meeting with her personal trainer. The 29-year-old was reported missing by her mother, Maureen, the same day.
As the Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy arrived at the McDonalds' San Antonio home in a posh gated community, they found evidence that indicated foul play. The couple's bathroom had bloodstains and hair on a light switch. Besides, their landscaped backyard had a burn pile, per CBS News.
The officers found a blood-stained hammer and clothes in the garbage. Upon testing, the blood matched positively to Andreen's DNA, and the clothes were identified to belong to Andre. Moreover, the officers suspected Andre based on his inconsistent alibi and found surveillance footage of him purchasing odd items such as a log-splitter, an axe, and several heavy-duty trash bags at a Lowes store.
Per KSAT, Andreen McDonalds' body was found by Clifton Klabunde on private property on Specht Road. The human remains were taken for autopsy and the reports suggest severe blunt force trauma including a fractured spinal cord, a broken rib, and a split jaw, per CBS News.
