Following the conclusion of Batman: The Animated Series, Bruce Timm returned to Gotham for its sequel. The New Batman Adventures is set a few years after its predecessor and also brings Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl into the fold.

While the show doesn't reach the heights of Batman: The Animated Series, it still has a similar vibe that folks who enjoyed Batman: Caped Crusader will be able to appreciate. Not to mention, Kevin Conroy kills it as the Dark Knight as well.

4) Batman: The Brave and the Bold

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a much campier affair that feels like a homage to the early days of the character. Featuring the Caped Crusader as he teams up with a new superhero every episode to solve crimes, the series is more aimed towards a younger audience, but adults can find something to enjoy here as well.

Diedrich Bader's Batman voice is a highlight too, and the more colorful art palette makes it a pleasing affair.

3) The Batman

In the same way that Batman: Caped Crusader was a new take on the DC superhero, The Batman (2004) did the same as well. Following Bruce Wayne, who is early in his crime-fighting career, the series adds new twists and turns to the character's rogue galleries.

The Batman also brings legacy characters like Batgirl and Robin to the forefront, and with a neat animation style and some great voice acting, it truly holds its own.

2) Batman Beyond

While Batman: Caped Crusader still sticks to the basics of the character, Batman Beyond takes us into the future.

The series follows an older Bruce Wayne who has retired from being Batman, but when he comes across Terry McGinnis, he finds his successor. The series then sees Terry become the Dark Knight of the future while fighting a rogues gallery unique to him.

If it weren't for Batman: The Animated Series, then we never would have gotten Batman: Caped Crusader. The series is the definitive take on Bayman in animation and is generally regarded as one of the most influential animated shows of all time.

The series sees Batman take on villains weekly as he continues his war on crime in Gotham. It was also the show that gave us Kevin Conroy's iconic performance as Batman and is constantly held as a high point in the character's zeitgeist.
