Kitty Song Covey, Praveena, and three other memorable characters who shine in season 2 of XO, Kitty
1) Katherine "Kitty" Song-Covey (Anna Cathcart)
From To All the Boys I've Loved Before films to XO, Kitty, fans have seen Kitty Song Covey grow into an endearing young woman trying to be the best version of herself. In season 1, the headstrong protagonist traveled from the States to Seoul to walk in the footsteps of her mother, who also attended the Korean Independent School of Seoul, aka KISS.
Kitty could reunite with her boyfriend Dae, who she had been in a long-distance relationship with. Her time at KISS also opened up several avenues of self-realization, which allowed her to come to terms with her sexual orientation and figure out her priorities.
In season 2 of XO, Kitty, the protagonist is back in KISS with a renewed vigor to live life to the fullest and listen to her heart, which still yearns for Yuri (Gia Kim). However, Kitty isn't perfect and is a magnet for trouble, which doesn't change in the new season. But she is still as sincere as ever and always has everyone's best interests at heart, which makes it easy for the audience to root for her.
2) Min Ho Moon (Sang Heon Lee)
In season 1 of XO, Kitty, it was obvious that Min Ho is a spoiled kid used to getting everything he wants. However, after his meaningful interactions with Kitty, of which there are many, fans can see another side to the character. Underneath the frivolous exterior is an emotional and vulnerable young man looking for genuine connections.
Towards the end of season 1, Min Ho did the unthinkable by trading in his first-class seat to sit next to Kitty in coach. Although he tries his best not to show it, this action helps cement that Min Ho fiercely loyal to the people he cares about, Kitty being one of them. He left fans in shock when he confessed his feelings to Kitty, who also did not see it coming.
Although things are a little awkward between Min Ho and Kitty in XO, Kitty season 2, their charming banter continues to entertain fans who cannot get enough of the duo. Min Ho's character is complex and mysterious because he keeps things bottled inside, but this is also why his character arc is interesting to watch.
3) Praveena (Sasha Bhasin)
XO, Kitty has many couples fans love to support. In season 1, Kitty and Dae (Choi Min-young) seemed like they had what it took to go the long run, but towards the end, they both felt it was best to part ways. It was heartwarming to see that they decided to stay friends, but Kitty still didn't have that "someone special" in her life.
XO, Kitty season 2 brought in a new love interest in the form of Praveena, a student who Kitty meets during the school assembly. Cool, well-traveled, and enigmatic, Praveena is the kind of character who is instantly likable, and it is not surprising that she hits it off with Kitty with great ease.
Fans of XO, Kitty will agree that Kitty should be romantically attached to someone who understands and cherishes her for who she is, and Praveena certainly fits into that category.
4) Stella (Audrey Huynh)
Kitty had to bunk with the boys in XO, Kitty season 1, which led to a series of problems on a personal front and with the school's management. This time around, she hoped for a fresh start in a single dorm. However, she has to bunk with roommates due to budget cuts, and her new roommate, Stella, seems to have an agenda of her own.
Stella claims to be a small-town girl from Ohio and tries hard to get into Kitty's good books. Moreover, the fact that she seems to have a crush on Min Ho makes things a little awkward for Kitty, who claims she is okay with them going out.
Life at KISS is always eventful, and Stella adds to the chaos and excitement. The fact that Stella's real identity is shrouded in mystery is one of the many reasons viewers won't be able to take their eyes off this determined young character.
5) Yuri Han (Gia Kim)
Apart from Kitty, another character who commands attention every time she is on screen is Yuri Han. She is rich and popular, but at the same time, she is smart, level-headed, and realistically flawed. Therefore, it doesn't surprise viewers that she was one of the main reasons for Kitty's awakening.
At the end of XO, Kitty season 1, Kitty became certain of her feelings for Yuri, but she was unable to share them with her. In season 2, Yuri helps her rejoin KISS. But things get complicated for the beloved matchmaker when Yuri's girlfriend, Juliana, returns to KISS, and they all become roommates.
Like fans who are invested in the Kitty-Min Ho ship, many want Kitty's feelings for Yuri to bear fruit eventually. But irrespective of where their relationship leads, it is heartwarming for fans to know that Kitty will always have a loyal confidant in Yuri.
XO, Kitty season 2 is a joy to watch for fans of the genre. The audience gets to experience love, friendship, heartbreak, and more through these interesting characters.
