The much-hyped return of Squid Game season 2, Keira Knightley making a comeback as a spy, and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from Friends, as we all know) in a brand new dark comedy are some of the highlights among the shows and renewed episodes hitting Netflix in December 2024.

Queer Eye, Black Doves, and other TV shows to stream on Netflix in December 2024
1) Squid Game (Season 2)
Hwang Dong-hyuk is the creator, writer, and director of the South Korean survival thriller horror television series Squid Game (Korean: 오징어 게임). Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, HoYeon Jung, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung are among the ensemble cast members.
The show centers on a competition in which 456 participants risk their lives to compete in a series of lethal games in an attempt to earn a reward of ₩45.6 billion. The title of the series is derived from a Korean children's game of the same name. Hwang's personal financial hardships, the social divide in South Korea, and capitalism all influenced his idea.
On September 17, 2021, season 1 of Squid Game was broadcast globally and it amassed over 142 million member households and 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first four weeks, it surpassed Bridgerton as the most-watched show on Netflix and became the most-watched program in 94 countries.
In the much-awaited season 2, one year after winning the Squid Game, Gi-hun returns and joins the game once more in an attempt to exact revenge on the "frontman" and put an end to the game permanently.
Season 2 episode 1 is set to release on Netflix on December 26, 2024.
2) Black Doves (Season 1)
Keira Knightley returns to the screen after a long hiatus as the main character in the spy drama Black Doves on Netflix. Knightley portrays Helen Webb in the series, who is a professional spy and devoted mother and wife.
After giving the Black Doves, a clandestine organization, the secrets of her political husband, Webb's hidden identity is put in jeopardy when her boyfriend, Andrew Koji, is killed and she seeks revenge. Ben Whishaw and Sarah Lancashire co-star in the show, created by Joe Barton of Giri/Haji.
Netflix released the first episode of Black Doves on December 6, 2024, and season 2 is also on the way.
3) No Good Deed
Liz Feldman is the creator of the planned American dark comedy television series No Good Deed, which will be available on Netflix. It centers on three families competing to purchase the same home, which they all believe will be the solution to their issues.

4) Queer Eye (season 9)
The American reality television show Queer Eye debuted on Netflix on February 7, 2018. In each episode of this Bravo-produced revival of the original 2003 series, five counselors use their expertise to help someone improve their life for a week.
The show has been praised for its robust representation in communities that include people of color and the LGBT community.

5) Virgin River
Robyn Carr's Virgin River novels served as the inspiration for the romantic drama television show Virgin River, produced by Reel World Management.
Virgin River tells the story of Melinda "Mel" Monroe, who responds to an advertisement for a position as a nurse practitioner and midwife in the isolated community of Virgin River, Northern California.
Mel believes it will be the ideal setting for her to start over and get over her traumatic experiences. However, she quickly learns that small-town life is more complicated than she had anticipated.
On December 6, 2019, the first season of the show debuted on Netflix. And December 19, 2024, is the scheduled launch date for season 6.
