The horrific Broken Arrow murders saw two brothers Robert Bever (19), and Michael Bever (16), attempt to kill all of their family members, including their five siblings and their parents.

They reportedly planned the murder for months after discovering a shared interest in serial killings and mass murders. The two brothers allegedly wanted to conduct a mass murder and even ordered multiple rounds of ammunition before killing their family members.

2) The Bever family was reclusive and the murderers claimed abuse by their parents

The Bever family was a large family of nine living in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The parents, April Bever and David Bever, had seven children Robert (19), Michael (16), Crystal (13), Daniel (12), Christopher (6), Victoria (5), and Autumn (2). The children were homeschooled, and the family rarely interacted with other people.

The homicide was reportedly carried out by the two eldest siblings, who later claimed to the police that their parents were abusive. This was later confirmed by one of the surviving siblings, Crystal. However, she said that it was only their father, David, who was abusive.

3) The victims were stabbed multiple times by the two brothers

The two brothers allegedly started their murder spree by slitting the throat of their sister Crystal after she came into their room. They then stabbed their father 28 times and their mother more than 48 times. Their younger brother Daniel was stabbed 21 times (he was the one who managed to alert the police). They also stabbed their 5-year-old sister Victoria 23 times and their 10-year-old brother 21 times.

The only survivors of the attack were their 2-year-old sister Autumn, who was unharmed, and their 13-year-old sister Crystal, who survived despite her stab wounds.

4) The brothers fooled three of their siblings before stabbing them

When Robert and Michael Bever started their murder spree, their brother Daniel (12) hid inside his room, while Victoria (5) and Christopher (10) also hid inside another room.

Daniel, unaware of who the attackers were, was fooled by Michael, who stated that he was being attacked by Robert too. Daniel opened the door to provide refuge to his brother before being eventually stabbed to death by both of them. A similar fate was shared by Victoria and Christopher, who were fooled by Michael before being killed.

The police reportedly tracked down Robert and Michael, who were fleeing the crime scene when the police arrived at their door. The brothers were proud of their actions when caught. When the police questioned them, they stated that they wanted to become famous mass murderers out of a desire for media attention.

As per truecrime.com, Michale stated the following in an interview with the police:

"Well, originally we wanted to kill everyone in the house first, and wait for all the packages to show up over the weekend."

The details of the Broken Arrow murders are covered in the upcoming episode of People Magazine Presents: Crimes of the 2010s.
