A fractured skull and 4 other key details surrounding Ed Bozarth's murder

1) Ed Bozarth's body was wrapped in a bag and he was left incapacitated

According to CBS, Ed's lifeless body was discovered in the boat's starboard engine room. The corpse was discovered enveloped in a canvas sail storage bag, serving as a makeshift body bag. Ed was discovered wrapped in a towel and bound with a rope. The murderer also wrapped a belt around Ed's neck.

As reported by CBS, autopsy reports stated that Ed was hit on the skull several times. His skull was fractured and he had multiple injuries all over his body. Ed’s friend Lowry talked to CBS about how brutally Ed was murdered and revealed:

"Seven distinct, hard blows to the head so bad that they had to go to the University of Florida to have the skull reconstructed to even see what type of object killed him."

As reported by CBS, Ed’s body was found in the engine room of his boat. When there was a foul smell coming from within the boat, there was a search to locate the source of the smell. This led to the discovery of Ed’s deceased body. When the sheriffs arrived, they discovered that the air conditioners of the boat were set to 60 degrees.

4) No murder weapon was found at the crime scene

Reportedly, after Ed’s body was discovered and it was evident from the autopsy that he died because of blunt force trauma to the head, it was clear that someone hammered his skull down.

However, no murder weapon was retrieved from the scene. There were no other traces of DNA or evidence too, which made it hard for the investigators to link someone to the crime.

5) Ed’s wife wanted to hire a killer to have him killed

She was also willing to offer $10,0000 to the killer, who would help her with the murder.

Another witness Bonnie Colon also revealed that when she lived with Ed and Denise, Denise would often talk about killing Ed and the huge sum of money she would get upon Ed’s death.
