Hadden Clark is perhaps one of the most intriguing figures in the world of crime, having committed two and confessed to a dozen murders for decades. Before he was finally apprehended in November 1992, Hadden had also managed to outsmart the law for years after murdering Michele Dorr, a 6-year-old girl he killed and disposed of in his brother's home.

Hadden Clark is the subject of Investigation Discovery's upcoming series, Born Evil: The Serial Killer and The Savior, which begins with its first episode on September 2, 2024, at 9.00 PM EST. The synopsis for the first episode reads:

"A little girl and a young woman go missing years apart, and one man, Hadden Clark, is connected to both. Now in prison, Clark confesses gruesome details of a murderous life after he starts to believe his new cellmate is Jesus Christ."

As bizarre as the synopsis looks, Hadden Clark is an immensely eccentric figure, whose life and crimes are littered with gruesome details that will shock even hardcore true crime fans.

Ahead of Born Evil: The Serial Killer and The Savior, let us go over five such intriguing details from the suspected serial killer's life.

5 chilling details about Hadden Clark's life and crimes

1) Hadden Clark was abused as a child and grew up in a dysfunctional household

Born to Hadden Clark Sr. and Flavia Clark on July 31, 1952, in Troy, New York, Hadden did not have a normal upbringing. Both his parents were allegedly alcoholics and regularly fought at home. His mother also allegedly dressed him in girls' clothes and sent him to school as a form of punishment.

This, in turn, led to a lot of bullying at Bucks County Technical High School in Pennsylvania.

2) He had a taste for twisted things from a young age

According to reports, Hadden began cutting and killing the pets of his bullies from a young age, which gives a glimpse at his twisted psyche, which persisted throughout his life.

After graduating from a Culinary school, he worked in several restaurants. He was also allegedly seen drinking the blood that drained from the meat he prepared at his workplace.

3) He murdered a 6-year-old girl in one of the most twisted ways possible

In May 1986, while living with his brother Geoff in Montgomery County, Maryland, he murdered Michele Dorr, a six-year-old friend of his niece, when the latter came looking for her friend at Geoff's house. He allegedly slit her throat with a chef's knife, attempted to assault her corpse, drank her blood, ate her flesh, and then put her in a duffel bag.

He buried her in a park 12 miles away and nearly got away with the crime. He was asked by his brother to move out shortly before this happened.

4) He murdered Laura Houghteling in 1992 and was caught this time

In October 1992, Hadden was working as a gardener for Penny Houghteling. After a fight with Penny about accusations of stealing garden tools, he killed 23-year-old Laura Houghteling, the daughter of Penny, in her house. He stabbed her to death with a kitchen knife and suffocated her with a pillow.

He tried to cover up this crime too, even going to a great extent to do so, but he left his fingerprints behind and was eventually apprehended. He confessed to this murder and later to the murder of Dorr.

5) Hadden Clark confessed to murdering dozens of people to his cellmate Jack Truitt

Hadden was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia during his time with the Navy and hence his confessions did not really put a seal on it. But Clark confessed to killing dozens of people to cellmate Jack Truitt, who he thought was Jesus Christ. He also confessed to killing an unidentified woman on Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 1974, who turned out to be Ruth Marie Terry.

Though police found some evidence of these alleged murders, they were never formally proven.
