1) The crime scene of Felicia Tang was splattered with blood
It was on the morning of September 11, 2009, when the Monrovia Police received an emergency call from Felicia's partner Brian Randone. Felicia used to live with Randone, at his apartment in the San Gabriel Mountains suburbs.
When the detectives reached the situation, they found a gruesome scene where the bedroom was splashed with blood all over. There were lumps of hair spread all across the floor, and Felicia's dead body was lying naked on the bathroom floor, with eyes open.
2) Felicia Tang had a history of drug abuse
Felicia Tang was born in Singapore on October 22, 1977, and their family moved to Los Angeles, California, when she was in her teens. By the time she was 19, she started appearing as a bikini model and eventually joined the adult entertainment industry.
Finally, in October 2008, she left the industry to make a future in real estate. However, Felicia was addicted to wild parties and was habituated to using an illegal drug called GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate). As per CBS News, GHB was used as a stimulant for s*xual arousal and intoxication. As per CBS News, when the investigators reached the crime scene, blood was smashed on the walls, closet doors, and the bed. As per Detective Schoonmaker, they counted around 320 bruise marks on Felicia's body. Throughout her body, from her knees to her feet, there were solid purple bruisings.
Investigating the patterns of the bruises, they found a lot of scars indicating that the victim trying to defend herself. The cause of Felicia's death was initially ruled out as suffocation, especially, since there were biting marks on her tongue, indicating that she struggled to breathe before dying.
4) Felicia Tang was tortured before her death
Upon closely scrutinizing Felicia's bruises, medical examiners found that the victim had lacerations and abrasions throughout her body. As per Monrovia Patch, after Brian Randone was arrested, and the trial began, Deputy District Attorney Philip Wojdak revealed some disturbing images of the victim's body. There were clear signs of lacerations on her face and throughout her body.
What was more terrifying was that some parallel line of bruises went through her legs, her right breast was lacerated, while the left one was deeply bruised. This indicated that someone had thoroughly, whipped her with something like a wire hanger, before her death.
5) Brian Randone was found not guilty of the murder of Felicia Tang
Randone became the prime suspect in the murder and was arrested by the cops at the scene. He was put into the Los Angeles County jail, and as per a Monrovia Patch article, it was on November 16, 2011, when the trial for Randone began in the Pasadena courtroom.
Brian Randone, the attorney Mark Overland dismissed the case to be GHB overdose, which was backed up by Trinka Porrata, a retired narcos cop from the Los Angeles Police Department. Using his 22 years of experience, Porrata ruled out the case to be a drug overdose. On December 9, 2011, Brian Randone proved himself not guilty, and all the charges against him were dropped.
