Season one, episode six of Feuds Turned Fatal on ID will focus on the 2012 murder of Joey Weatherwax. Joey Weatherwax succumbed to a gunshot wound. The person who pulled the trigger was Micah S. Holland. Holland was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for this crime.

1) Joey Weatherwax was killed by his cousin
As per the official court documents on Find Law, Joey Weatherwax was slain by his cousin Micah S. Holland on September 9, 2012. Although Holland claimed that he pulled the trigger in self-defense, the jury was not convinced by his statements, He was charged with wanton murder and sentenced to 20 years in jail.
At the court, Holland described how the crime took place and told the prosecutor:
"I pointed the gun right at him ... I pulled the gun overhead ... the gun just went off... Things just happened so fast ... It was ... Just a minute ..."
2) Micah S. Holland ran over Joey Weatherwax
As per court documents on Find Law, Joey Weatherwax ran towards his cousin’s vehicle right before the murder took place “armed with a two-by-four” to allegedly attack him.
Reportedly, as Holland fired a shot, the bullet hit Weatherwax in the chest, after which he collapsed on the floor outside his home and died. The forensics stated that the cause of death was a gunshot wound, however, the court documents also reveal that the murderer ran over the victim after he collapsed.
3) There was an exchange of messages and texts before the murder
As per the Find Law court documents, before the murder took place, Kyle Cherry, another cousin of the victim and the convict had hosted a gathering. After the event was concluded, Joey Weatherwax and Micah S. Holland talked on the phone and there was a furious exchange of words and they also "threatened" each other.
Reportedly, the last conversation that the two had was when Holland stated that he was coming to Weatherwax's home to harm him, and was also encouraged by Weatherwax for the confrontation.
4) Both cousins suffered from mental and emotional issues
As per court documents on Find Law, both Weatherwax and Micah S. Holland suffered from “mental and emotional issues.” The cousins took drugs to treat their mental and emotional disorders. Apart from that, they struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and related concerns.
5) Several incidences of hate
As per the court documents, the killer’s (Micah S. Holland) wife Christina was previously married to Weatherwax, and "this led to ongoing animosity between the two."
Holland believed the entire family was against him due to previous altercations. According to court documents, the killer claimed that Weatherwax and other family members attempted to kill him by cutting his car's brake and power steering cables and loosening the lug nuts. Allegedly, Weatherwax had also previously asked for money to buy ammunition from his grandmom, to kill Holland.
