Koketia King used to be a prison guard in Florida City who was shot in the face on June 10, 2010, as reported by Miami New Times. Her partner, Yathomas Riley, was arrested as the prime suspect. Riley reportedly told the cops that he was innocent, and claimed that it was King who tried to kill herself.

1) Koketia King was reportedly connected to a prison tax fraud scam
According to The Cauldron report, published on May 25, 2016, Koketia King worked at a state correctional facility in Miami. In September 2006, Koketia had a child with her partner, Yathomas Riley, but after the birth of their son Yaheim, their relationship reportedly deteriorated.
Yathomas was an emerging professional boxer, and he moved to The Bronx to train with Travis Stocking. As per the same media outlet, their relationship worsened when Yathomas came to know that Koketia King had indulged herself in a tax fraud scheme.
Per a CBS News, Koketia King was allegedly having a relationship with a prison inmate whom she helped with tax fraud. Yathomas retrieved a letter, that proved Koketia indulging in the tax fraud scheme in the prison. As per a report by Miami News Times dated August 16, 2012, she was reported to have connections with a murderer named Andre Pinder, which led him to fly back to Miami.
2) Yathomas claimed that Koketia King had tried to kill herself
The Cauldron further reported that Yathomas called 911 emergency on June 10, 2010, saying that Koketia King had been shot. Two shots were fired; however, they weren't fatal, and she managed to survive the attack. Yathomas was immediately arrested for attempting murder on his wife, though he came out with a different story.
According to him, it was Koketia who tried to kill herself after he showed her the letter revealing her tax fraud scheme. However, Koketia Kingm claimed that it was her partner who pulled the trigger after the two embarked on a heated debate. Despite his claims, Yathomas was put behind bars until he managed to provide a handwritten letter, which proved all his claims.
Miami New Times reported that after two months of filing cases and court trials, Yathomas was proven not guilty due to a lack of evidence to back up Koketia's claims. He was finally released on August 17, 2012, from the Metro West Detention Center in Miami, United States.
3) Koketia King's partner reportedly had an interest in another woman
When Yathomas was training with Travis Stocking at a boxing gym in The Bronx, New York City, he allegedly had a romantic interest in another woman. According to The Cauldron, though Koketia King and he were still together, Yathomas started seeing a young woman named Lisa Amodio.
She was a medical practitioner, who was one of the very few people, who supported Yathomas, and managed his attorneys, while he was behind bars. Lisa became his girlfriend after he was bailed out of prison. Lisa seemingly became his cutwoman and started accompanying him in his fights.
Yathomas bought a house, and moved out with Lisa in Leesburg. The couple eventually had a child named Giuseppe. However, Yathomas soon started assaulting Lisa, which reportedly shifted towards physical violence. It was in June 2015, when Lisa called 911 emergency, informing her that her husband was pointing a gun at her head. He soon began to suspect his wife of cheating on him.
4) Yathomas Riley was found guilty of murdering his second partner Lisa Amodio
According to Miami New Times, it was around 8:30 am on Friday, July 10, 2015, Yathomas called 911 emergency and informed that his wife was unresponsive and covered in blood. The Albany Herald quoted Yathomas saying:
“I had just come in from out of town and my wife, I don’t know what’s going on, but she’s in a room and she’s got blood coming out of her.”
Upon interrogation, he claimed that Lisa had killed herself. The Cauldron reported that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which headed the case, retrieved two 9mm bullets from the room. The bullets reportedly matched with the loaded black Canik 55 TP9 9mm rifle, which was found beside her. Investigators found that the alarm sensors in the house were faulty.
The investigators opened up Yathomas Rileys' past cases and discovered that he was related to a number of crimes, including assault, and murder attempts. The trial for Yathomas Riley began on June 20, 2016.
5) Yathomas Riley received lifetime imprisonment for murdering his partner
Both Yathomas' mother and sister testified against him, stating that they knew that he used to assault her. His sister Loretta expressed her sorrow for Lisa not taking any action against him, that could've changed her fate. As per The Cauldron, Loretta said:
"When we were saying, you know, be strong. And don’t let a man walk all over you, I don’t care who it is.
Loretta added:
"I just wonder when did she come to realize that it’s serious? When did she come to realize that if a man doesn’t have a decent relationship with his mother or sister, there may be a problem? When did she come to realize that their relationship was unhealthy? When did she see it? When did she wake up?”
Yathomas' mother Lorene also revealed that she knew that Lisa was suffering. She even personally approached Lisa and asked her to leave Yathomas. Lisa stayed, which led her to get shot to death. It was on June 24, 2016, when Yathomas was found guilty of murdering his wife.
Per WALB News, Yathomas Riley was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment, without any chance of parole, with 40 additional years.
