It is easy to get addicted to Subteran because it delivers nail-biting suspense without being overdramatic, something that is quite common in Romanian TV shows. Fortunately, Umbre, containing three seasons and 21 episodes, also falls under the same category.
Șerban Pavlu plays Relu, a family man who hides the fact that he is an enforcer for a small-time Romanian mob boss. When he accidentally kills a man during a mission, things start to spiral and the secrets he has been keeping from his loved ones start to come undone little but little.

In the lead are Theodor Soptelea and Vlad Balan, who play teenagers, Filip and Horia. As they try to make sense of the feelings they have for each other, they witness a multiple-murder case.
Both of them are aware that if they were to become witnesses, their relationship would come under the spotlight which may end up upsetting their conservative loved ones.

Jella Haase portrays Kleo Straub, a skilled East German Stasi assassin. After being falsely accused, she finds herself imprisoned. When the Berlin Wall is torn down, she is finally released. After that, Kleo makes a plan to track down the conspirators responsible for framing her.
The show blends intense moments with perfectly-timed humor that the audience will enjoy. The cast did a great job, particularly Haase who perfectly captured her character's revenge-fueled motivations.

As she forces herself to come to terms with the loss, she sees her deceased husband on the nanny cam footage. This prompts her to launch a personal investigation to find out what really happened on the day of the incident.
Maya's character, like Cami in Subteran, is courageous and determined to get to the bottom of the truth. Thanks to Keegan's emotive performance, the audience will find it easy to relate to her character. The highlight of this thriller show has to be the unpredictable plotline with several revelations that the viewers won't see coming.

5) Furies (2024)
Subteran's Cami finds herself in the midst of all the action once she makes up her mind to bring the Bucharest criminals to justice. Lyna's parents are criminals and they die during a mob-related attack. When she refuses to give up the names of the people who murdered them, she is put behind bars. Once she is released, she meets Selma, aka the Fury, essayed by Marina Foïs, who is responsible for keeping the peace among the six major crime families in Paris.
Like Cami in Subteran, Lyna's character arc is also very satisfying to watch. She learns how to use her wits to navigate secrets and betrayals. Action fans, in particular, will enjoy the detailed fight scenes that will get their adrenaline pumping.
