Created by Tom Kapinos and starring Tom Ellis, Lauren German, and others, Lucifer is a show that revolves around the devil, Lucifer (Ellis), who is bored of his existence in hell and flies to Earth to run a nightclub in Los Angeles.
Not just that, the devil gets involved in solving cases with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) after he is mesmerized by police detective Chloe Decker (German), who is immune to his devilish charms.
The show earned a huge and loyal fanbase that when it was canceled by Fox, its fans ran a campaign to save it—leading to Netflix taking up the show for another six seasons.

The show shares similarities with Lucifer, as it too, moved away from broadcast to streaming networks. It also has the same mix of romantic tension, humor, procedural drama, and religious symbolism.
Viewers who have not heard of this show before should definitely try it as Evil also poses serious questions about faith, evil, and the disconnect in today’s world.

A well-known show, Castle is for those who loved the police investigations and humorous yet romantic shenanigans of Lucifer and Chloe. Airing for eight seasons, it’s about a best-selling crime author Richard Castle, who suffers from writer’s block and gets involved with the New York Police Department (NYPD), after a murder is based on his book.

Based on a novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Good Omens, is a sharply witty series. Praised for the acting of its leads—Michael Sheen and David Tennant—the show is about an angel (Sheen) and a demon (Tennant), who are close friends, even though they are on opposite sides.
But, putting their differences apart, the duo need to join forces as the Armageddon could begin anytime and it’s up to the two of them to stop the coming of the Antichrist. Viewers will love the religious and rib-tickling humor of this show.

Most fans of Lucifer, are fans of Tom Ellis and viewers of the show miss his charming smile and sexy accent. But there is another show, that can satisfy the fans’ love for Ellis. Rush is a medical drama, where Ellis (Dr Rush) reprises a role similar in nature to the charming devil.
After being fired from his work due to excessive partying, Ellis’ character resorts to seeing patients exclusively and charging immensely for his services. He then uses this money for drugs and even more parties. Like Lucifer, Rush is unapologetically himself and loves to enjoy hard. This one is purely for fans of Tom.
6) Moonlight (Available on Apple TV+)
Even though this show aired for only one season, it has similarities enough with Lucifer, to make you want to watch it. While Lucifer is the devil and helps solve cases on Earth, over here, a private detective is actually a vampire, who also helps solve crimes in Los Angeles.
And just like Lucifer loves Chloe, in Moonlight, the detective, Mick St. John, is attracted to a reporter Beth Turner. The drama also shows his interactions with other vampires. The show was created by Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson and starred Alex O’Loughlin and Sophia Myles.
7) Supernatural (Available on Amazon Video)
Created by Eric Kripke, Supernatural has a huge fan following and was one of the longest-running fantasy shows with a total of 15 seasons. The series is centered around two brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester, who travel through the US to solve supernatural cases.
The show also has a parallel plot of an impending doomsday, for which, the brothers have to fight both God and Devil. Supernatural has the same procedural drama and religious overtones as Lucifer. And fans even debate about which devil is the best.

The protagonist of this show also hides a big secret about his identity like Lucifer. Starring Ioan Gruffudd as Dr. Henry Morgan, Forever is about Dr. Morgan’s unexplainable immortality.
Over 200 years old, Morgan joins forces with the NYPD detective Jo Martinez (played by Alana de la Garz) to solve cases and study the dead—in turn, learning the secret behind his mortality.
The show also adds some undercurrent romantic tension between the duo. And it has its fair share of light-hearted moments as the Dr. tries to adjust to modern times.
