Secret Level is an American adult animated anthology series created by Tim Miller, featuring stories set in iconic video game worlds. Amazon ordered the series in August 2024, following its reveal at Gamescom, with a global release on December 10, 2024.

The adult animated anthology show Love, Death & Robots, with individual episodes consisting of three seasons, is created by many animation studios from various nations and includes a variety of genres—humor, horror, science fiction, and fantasy.
The show is a reinvention of a long-in-development reboot of the 1981 movie Heavy Metal, which Netflix took up and turned into a TV series. The majority of the show's episodes are based on Philip Gelatt short stories, and it is produced by Miller, Joshua Donen, David Fincher, and Jennifer Miller.
A similarity between Love, Death & Robots and Secret Level is that both feature diverse, action-packed stories with a mix of genres, including science fiction and fantasy.

2) The Legend of Vox Machina
The Legend of Vox Machina is an adult animated fantasy series with three seasons, produced by Amazon Studios, Titmouse, Inc., and Metapigeon. Based on the first campaign of the Critical Role Dungeons & Dragons series, the story takes place in locations like the city of Emon on Tal'Dorei and the city-state of Whitestone.
An all-new story about the seven-member Vox Machina team on their first mission features in the first two episodes. While the Briarwood storyline from the original web series, in which the Vox Machina crew avenge the murder of the rulers Whitestone is later adapted in the series. The Chroma Conclave storyline is one of the other classic Vox Machina story arcs that the show adapts in its second and third seasons.

3) Resident Evil
Andrew Dabb produced the eight-episode biopunk action horror series Resident Evil for Netflix. It is the second TV adaptation of the franchise after the animation Infinite Darkness (2021) and the third live-action adaptation after the Resident Evil movies and the 2021 relaunch, Welcome to Raccoon City. It is largely based on the Capcom video game series.
The series, set in an alternate reality, uses the video game’s plot as its backstory. After the Raccoon City outbreak in 1998 and Albert Wesker’s death, the Umbrella Corporation rebounded under CEO Evelyn Marcus. The story unfolds across two timelines: in 2022, 14-year-old twins Billie and Jade uncover secrets about their ancestry and Umbrella’s history, and in 2036, when the T-virus has decimated humanity.
Jade is the key to revealing the truth about the apocalypse, and the Umbrella Corporation is trying to hunt her down.
Secret Level and Resident Evil both involve characters fighting against mutated creatures in a dystopian, virus-infected world.

4) Arcane
Arcane: League of Legends, created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, is an adult animated steampunk action-adventure series with two seasons. Set in Riot's League of Legends universe, it centers on sisters Vi and Jinx (aka Powder) as they clash over conflicting ideologies and mysterious technologies.
The story unfolds amid rising tensions between the wealthy city of Piltover and the oppressed undercity of Zaun. The series was announced during the game’s 10th anniversary in 2019.

5) Fallout
Fallout is an eight-episode post-apocalyptic drama show based on the role-playing computer game franchise that Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky created.
In a post-apocalyptic world, decades after the Great War of 2077, a young woman named Lucy leaves Vault 33 to look for her father, who has been abducted, in the perilous wasteland of Los Angeles.
Along the way, she joins forces with a renowned ghoul bounty hunter and a squire from the Brotherhood of Steel. Each of them has their own secrets and missions, and they confront the deadly challenges of a devastated world, where survival requires facing the dark pasts of both humanity and the Vaults.
Since both the movies Secret Level and Fallout explore themes of survival in harsh worlds shaped by technology and societal collapse, viewers might find the latter interesting.

6) The Last of Us
Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are the producers of The Last of Us, which blends post-apocalyptic themes with dramatic aspects. Inspired by a Naughty Dog computer game, the plot takes place in a world 20 after a fungus illness has decimated humanity.
It is based on the 2013 game and covers the events that occurred thereafter. Season one with eight episodes covers the period when Joel, a smuggler is forced to travel through a destroyed America with a young girl Ellie who, having been infected, is the only surviving person Joel deals with.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a 10-episode anime series inspired by CD Projekt Red's game Cyberpunk 2077, set in Mike Pondsmith's Cyberpunk universe about a year before the game’s events. The story follows David Martinez, a reckless but talented street youth who, after losing everything in a drive-by shooting, becomes an "edgerunner"—a mercenary navigating the high-tech, crime-ridden dystopian city.
Both Secret Level and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners feature characters who struggle with survival in societies marked by corruption, inequality, and the influence of powerful corporations.

8) Halo The Series
The military science fiction show Halo centers on the struggle between the Covenant, a group of extraterrestrial civilizations determined to wipe off humankind, and humanity, represented by the United Nations Space Command, in the 26th century.
Based on the popular video game franchise by Bungie and 343 Industries, the show focuses on Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, a super-soldier from the Spartan-II program, and other key characters from the game.
