A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, the much-awaited BBC crime mystery series, is all set to be released on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 3 AM ET, on Netflix. Directed by Dolly Wells and Tom Vaughan, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is an adaptation of Holly Jackson's famous young adult 2019 novel of the same name.
It is the first part of a set consisting of three novels and a novella. The series will have six episodes, each stretching for 45 minutes, that will cover the events that happened in the first book. Emma Myers whom we have known from the Netflix horror series Wednesday will star as a 17-year-old girl Pip, uncovering mysteries in a sleepy English town.
In a discussion with Tudum, Myers said,
"I'm thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream,” Myers tells Tudum. “Whether you’ve read the book or not, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it."

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is the debut novel written by Holly Jackson published in 2019. Jackson, on March 23, 2024, had dropped a small clip of the show, and BBC premiered the series in the U.K. and Ireland on July 1, 2024.
While talking to BBC, Myers expressed her experience of portraying the role of protagonist from a bestselling novel,
“There are so many book fans,” she told BBC.com. She added that she’s “not as intelligent” as Pip. “I have a harder time putting things together and I don’t think I’d have the guts to confront as many people as she does.”
While talking to Radio Times, author Holly Jackson revealed that the team did a lot of hard work to have the script do justice to the true essence of the book. She says,
"They were not initially, I think, as true to the book as they needed to be." She further adds, "So we worked a lot on bringing that back because I knew that the reason the books are where they are is because of the readers, and if we made a show that they weren't happy with, we're kind of screwing ourselves over there."
