The NBC sitcom A.P. Bio is a comedy show that ran from 2018 to 2021 created by Michael Patrick O'Brien. The series starred Glenn Howerton, Lyric Lewis, and Mary Sohn, and spanned 42 episodes across four seasons. You can now watch the comedy sitcom streaming on Netflix this November.
A.P. Bio explored the lives of students and faculty at the fictional Whitlock High School. The show followed disgraced former philosophy professor Jack Griffin (Howerton), who begrudgingly takes a job teaching advanced placement biology. Rather than focusing on science, Griffin uses his students to scheme against those who have wronged him.
Initially airing on NBC for two seasons, the show was canceled in June 2019. However, a fan campaign, with public support from stars Glenn Howerton and Patton Oswalt, led to the show becoming the first and only series renewed for Peacock when the streaming platform launched in July 2020.
Executive producers included O'Brien himself, with Seth Meyers, Lorne Michaels, Andrew Singer, and Michael Shoemaker.
Despite its devoted following, the show was canceled in December 2021 after four seasons, but it remains one of the standout modern sitcoms today. Here’s the full list of the cast of the hit TV series.

1) Glenn Howerton as Jack Griffin
American actor and filmmaker Glenn Howerton is best known for his portrayal of Dennis Reynolds in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005), where he also serves as a writer and executive producer. From 2021 to 2023, Howerton co-hosted The Always Sunny Podcast alongside fellow co-creators Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day before the podcast went on hiatus.
In A.P. Bio, Howerton plays Jack Griffin, a disgraced Harvard philosophy professor who loses his dream job to his academic rival, Miles Leonard (Tom Bennett). Forced to return to his hometown of Toledo, Ohio, Griffin begrudgingly takes a position teaching advanced placement biology at Whitlock High School. He lives in his late mother’s home while teaching.
