ABC’s Abbott Elementary has, to date, seen the release of three seasons. Created by and starring Quinta Brunson, the series is made in a similar mockumentary style as seen in popular sitcoms such as The Office and Parks and Recreation. It centers on a group of teachers at the fictional Willard R. Abbott Elementary School.

Since season 3 was released back in February 2024, fans have consistently waited for updates about season 4. Now, ABC has officially announced the release date for the upcoming season, which is set for a premiere on October 9, 2024, at 9:30 pm ET.
Abbott Elementary season 4: Episodes and release dates
Not a lot of details have been released about season 4 thus far. However, the season is expected to include a total of 22 episodes, according to Cosmopolitan. The first episode, which remains untitled as well, will be released at 9:30 pm ET on October 9, 2024.

Season 4 can be expected to kick off from exactly where season 3 left things off. Brunson’s character, Janine, ends up kissing her longtime crush and romantic interest, Gregory, played by Tyler James Williams. The two have been involved in a longstanding romantic arc right from season 1, and might finally take things up a notch.
However, Tyler James also claimed in a recent interview that the kiss does not simply mean that the two will end up together, according to TV Insider,
"They can't stop-start anymore, but their journey might not be as straightforward as fans expect."
In addition to the two major characters’ relationship, Abbott Elementary will also once again delve into the drama surrounding the other characters on the show. This most notably includes the other primary teachers in the school.

Season 4 of Abbott Elementary can be expected to result in the return of all major characters from the show. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Quinta Brunson also revealed that season 4 will include a range of holiday-themed episodes, something that was somewhat lacking in the previous season.
"We were low on holiday episodes last season due to timing, but we're looking forward to doing a Christmas episode, a Halloween episode—really all the holidays."
