Before watching Agatha All Along season 1 episodes 8 and 9, the following are some key points to remember from the current storyline. Agatha Harkness and her newly assembled coven leave Westview through a conjured door and find themselves on the Witches Road. They set off on their journey, expecting many challenges on the way.

The coven then faces their first trial by brewing an antidote to poisoned wine they drank at a mysterious beach house on the road. The witches escape the effects of the poison, but Sharon ends up succumbing during their exit. Rio Vidal then becomes their Green Witch after Sharon's death, and the coven faces Alice's trial.

Alice uses her mother Lorna's Ballad of the Witches Road as a protective spell to save the coven. After this, the coven's third trial is linked to Agatha, who ends up draining Alice's powers and leaves her for dead. This leads to a heated confrontation and the reveal that Teen is Wiccan, the reincarnation of Wanda Maximoff's son Billy.

The plot then follows Billy's backstory after his soul got transported into William Kaplan when the Hex was brought down in WandaVision. The character explores his mind reading and witchcraft abilities, also revealing to Agatha in the end that he is looking for his twin brother Tommy.

In the latest episode, the coven reaches the next trial, which turns out to be Lilia's. She reads tarot cards with herself as the subject and the diviner, and relives her life, past and future, as memory flashbacks. Lilia's visions also reveal that Rio is actually Lady Death, the original Green Witch.

Though Lilia manages to finish the trial successfully, she prompts the coven to leave but stays back herself, knowing that she is at her life's end. Lilia sacrifices her life by holding off and killing the Salem Seven, thereby safeguarding the coven but losing her own life in the process.
