All Creatures Great and Small season 5 episode 2, Holding the Baby, saw James Herriot return to his local vet life in Darrowby after leaving RAF Abingdon. But, this time, he had baby Jimmy in tow during his rounds. Unfortunately for the newly minted father, his first day of dad duties ended with several mishaps.
He forgot the baby bag, so Jimmy had no nappies. When it was time to change him, the farmer's daughter helped fashion a diaper out of tea towels for the baby. Even worse, James forgot Jimmy as he and Carmody drove off the farm of their first client.
All Creatures Great and Small season 5 episode 2 also saw Siegfried and Mr. Bosworth getting on each other's nerves. While they had a temporary truce after Mr. Bosworth's dog passed away, it didn't last long. However, Mrs. Hall figured out why the two men grated on each other's nerves—they are practically twins in terms of personalities.
Jenny also heeded Helen's advice from long ago about seeing the world outside of Darrowby before she decided if she truly wanted to be a farmer or not. Carmody also got a new crush in the form of Jenny's new friend from Leeds, Doris.
