Another Self season 2 ending explained: Is the new season of the Netflix show worth streaming?

Netflix’s Another Self is a Turkish drama series that recently saw the conclusion of its Season 2. With a total of 8 episodes, the series once again focussed on the journey of three best friends who set out to the small seaside town of Ayvalik, intent on moving on from their past issues.

Revolving around the characters of Ada, Leyla, and Sevgi, played by Tuba Büyüküstün, Boncuk Yilmaz, and Seda Bakan, the series delves into their frustrated lives as they embark on a journey to Ayvalik in order to undergo a spiritual transformation.

Season 1 ended with the character of Sevgi deciding to move permanently to the picturesque town, where she finds a healer Zaman, whose guidance helps her further.

Sevgi decides to move to Ayvalik after her cancer relapses, as Season 2 gives fans an intense journey as the three friends discover a range of secrets about their past. The official synopsis reads as follows:

How did Another Self Season 2 end?

The three move to Ayvalik, as season 1 ends with Sevgi deciding to stay back permanently with Zaman, whose character is played by Firat Tanis. Regardless, in season 2 filled with a range of dramatic events, Sevgi is initially seen discovering a range of new information about her family.

As it turns out, she is told about her father’s identity by her mother, Muko, and then considers reconnecting with him. Muko reveals that she had a strained marriage with her father, Fiko, and the two decided to separate after wanting space from each other.

Season 2 also sees her cancer situation improve, as Sevgi then decides to reconnect with her father. However, her initial remission turns out temporary as her health deteriorates quickly again. This is when she decides to stop treatment and instead focus on living her life to the fullest, a notion that her friend Ada supports as well.

Another Self's protagonists, Sevgi, Layla and Ada, then journey to Kayalik, where they meet the former grandmother, who introduces Sevgi to a herbal concoction that she believes can help her with the cancer.

Regardless, Sevgi’s relationship with her father continues to improve in Another Self even as she proceeds to hide the severity of her condition from him. As far as Ada is concerned, she is seen focusing on her relationship with Toprak, which also poses multiple challenges. Toprak is caught between responsibilities towards his daughter and former partner Eva, which leads to complications between him and Ada, who feels neglected and eventually decides to break up.

She decides to continue her travels with her two friends and is seen revealing the extent of her pain during a session with Zaman. Ada also eventually enters a relationship with Diyar, who is Zaman’s son, but eventually decides to stay alone for the time being.

Regardless, Toprak is seen moving back to the Netherlands with her former partner and daughter, and he and Ada seemingly accept that their relationship does not have a future.

Regardless, audiences also see Leyla and Fiko deciding to run a tavern, as her marriage with Erdem continues to remain strong. She also eventually mends her relationship with her parents, as Erdem is eventually released from prison. This leads to Leyla further considering whether she should give him a second chance, and in the end, she decides to opt for forgiveness.

Leyla and her children are seen eventually staying with Erdem, who returns from prison as a changed man. Regardless, towards the end of Season 2, we see Ada losing her job due to her involvement with Zaman's sessions, as she continues her research on Systematic Constellations.

Another Self The Season 2 Finale sees Ada getting an opportunity to work for a research firm outside the country, which opens the door for another transformative journey for the three friends. A tumultuous, event-packed Season 2, therefore, ended with the creators setting up Another Self Season 3, even if Netflix has to date stayed mum on its release.
